What isSpiritual Warfare?
Ihave often wondered why we as Christians have such a hard time dealing with ourlives in the fullness we were meant to have. It is painfully obvious that we are underattack from outside sources and we don’t even realize it. So it causes one toponder and think what is wrong? What am I going through? Why me? And several other questions we often ask. In order to be properly prepared for these perilous times, renewed emphasis must be placed on the strategies of spiritual warfare. And understanding exactly what that means. The Christian life is war. Sometimeswe get so sidetracked from this mindset that we get sifted by the enemy. Thesooner we recognize and prepare for it, the sooner we will experience victory. We can then leave the victim mentality behind us and walk in a new understanding of what it means to fight. We can begin to have some insight into what is really happening in our lives. To understand this invisible war, we allmust first understand the natural and spiritual worlds. Man exists in twoworlds: The natural world and the spiritual world. The natural world is thatwhich can be seen, felt, touched, heard, or tasted. It is tangible and visible. You can relate to things you can see and feel right? To be basic and clear it is the seen and the unseen realms that we are going to discuss. The country, nation, city, orvillage in which you live is part of the natural world or the seen realm wherewe exist. You are a resident in a natural kingdom located on one of the visible continents of the world. You can see the people who are part of yourenvironment that co-exist with us day to day. You can communicate with them. Why then do we say war and how do we explain that in simple terms. Wellit is a 'war' because there are forcesworking vigorously to thwart God's work, the unseen, behind the curtain stuffwe don’t see. God is in charge, but there is an enemy that is in full-scale revolt, and it has powerful influence all around. If big God is not in chargelittle god is and several little gods are often due to our lack of following Big Gods rules. See if you are a believer or if you are not there are stillforces that we can’t see that are at work. Sometimes they manifest but that isanother discussion we will get to later. As with the unseen God, the forces behind the revolt are unseen, non-physical, and supernatural often wreakinghavoc in our lives each day. How you might ask can this happen? Let me try to explain it in simple terms we can experience the sights, sounds, and smells around us, and have some clarity on what is going on for the most part.In general, spiritual warfare is the conflictbetween good and evil it is the two opposing forces that we often wrestle withon a day to day basis. We either choose one side or the other by choice, ignorance or default. That does not matter in war.
It is the ongoing battle between two diametrically opposed kingdoms: God’s kingdom (good) and Satan’s kingdom(evil). It is what we fear to talk about or deal with in a realistic manner because of what the unknown brings. Though it is inherently a spiritua lconflict, spiritual warfare also manifests in the natural realm of flesh andblood. This includes all our doings, thoughts, choices and lack of each as well.We can be influenced to the point of losing our identity or we can be overtaken when we are so invested in the sinful acts our influenced choices cause us toact upon. Our choices can become so influenced by the demonic urgings and temptations they are no longer our own but belong to the demonic host causingthe influence. This rips us apart and that war intensifies within us. The warrages for our souls and our very lives are at stake we get so caught up in the influence we lose our very will to fight because we don’t know what we are upagainst all we know is something is wrong in street speak something aint right.Humans are caught in the midst of this conflict and may participate in the struggle on either side knowingly as well as unknowingly. This is an attempt to simplify our basicday to day understanding to cause us to be more effective in our strategies, prayers and warfare tactics on a personal level. Now that we have reviewed theorigin of the spiritual conflict between good and evil, we can begin the necessary understanding of our preparation for spiritual warfare, this will include sometearing down of old ideas and thought patterns and some mind renewal. The keyhere is renewal of the mind and tearing down some fortified strongholds in ourthinking. We are reminded that deception is a major tactic of the enemy. Heuses it every day, every way, all day every day every way! I hope this introduction helps someone.

Amen... It is so important that we understand as Christian that we are not called to have an easy life but He does promise us restoration at the end of it all.

Spiritual warfare is continuously happening all around us and certain things may happen in the flesh but also have an impact on our spiritual life.... Because we are part flesh, we sin and we leave gaps which the devil uses to get into our lives. It is so important for us to put on our spiritual armour and be ready for battle. Satan is reinventing himself day after day and thinking of new schemes to get ahead but as you said... the key is in the renewal of the mind and not conforming to the beliefs and ideals of the world.
