Even though I've fallen for this sort of thing so many times, I just can't hate the song. There's something special about super-cheesy 80's songs.

Silly of me to think that I could escape the powerhouse that is Star Wars--even on CC? :D
 
speaking of things star-wars that aren't as cool as they appear to be, upon closer inspection...

i didn't make this picture, but it's exactly my first thought when i saw the *actual* trailer. either that crossguard is going to get cut off by any lightsaber that the guy tries to parry with it, or the hilt is made out of something that even a lightsaber can't cut.

It's most likely an ancient lightsaber, getting rid of the excess energy. In fact, it bears resemblance to the lightsaber used by the first Sith Emperor.
