Hello, my lovely brothers and sisters of CC.

Today, is day one of a twenty one day fast, more specifically the Daniel Fast. (Here's a link for those unfamiliar with the fast. About the Daniel Fast) Please pray as I go through this 3 week period of battling against the flesh. I hope to come out of this much closer to God, and for my spiritual vines to dig their roots deeper into the word of God.

God bless!

I myself just started a fast today. I'm battling with loneliness and I'm fasting to feel closer to God so that He'll fill that void in my life that says I have to have a man. I plan to fast for a few days, however long I feel led too.

But good luck with your fast and broth and juice is great for keeping your strength that's lacked by not eating.

I will keep you both in prayer. In Jesus Name Above All Names, Amen

Prepare the mind as well as the Body. The Referenced Web site says:
When asked about the eating plan on the Daniel Fast, I often say it is a
"vegan diet with even more restrictions."

I have been a [near] Vegan for about 6 years, and practiced regular fasting prior to that
(3-7 day juice fasts, twice a year, and "40 hour fasts" once a month - last meal Friday
Noon, next meal Sunday Break-Fast, you skip 4 meals -- water or juice only in the 40 hour
fast).
Be sure of your general good health, and be sure to get enough nutrition to sustain
you. Shorter fasts can be more severe, but done in incremental fashion so as to
understand body tolerance.

The best benefit of a fast is gained when you combine the physical fasting with some sort
of spiritual activity(ies). Reading through the Gospels, Reading other inspirational books,
listening to inspirational music or watching inspirational videos, going for nature walks,
adding time for contemplation, AND -- Doing research on related social issues -- such as;
hunger, starvation, drought, food supply, environmental issues related to the food supply,
population issues, and other related social issues.

Go into the fast with an open, but seeking mind. Come out of the fast with a new
awareness, an awakening of the spirit, spiritual refreshment, the reward of self denial and
self control, AND, with a renewed sense to share the gospel of such social issues that
affect our own, and many others' literal salvation on this finite planet - things you have
learned and contemplated during this (or any) fast.

Best wishes and Godspeed!

Praying for you in Jesus during this fast untill done.
May all that is His will , presance and love be poured out upon you in this.

Hugs and God bless.

Matthew 6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

"And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek
by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and
sackcloth, and ashes: And I prayed unto the
Lord God, and made my confession... " Daniel 9:34
