Exodus 14 is one of the most memorable passages in all of Scripture . There we are told the time when the people of Israel was literally between a rock and a hard place . Behind them were the sword of Pharaoh's army . God hardened his heart to the Egyptian monarch, to renege on his promise to let the Hebrew people go . Now, full of anger came to destroy the people of God with his mighty army . Ahead of them , the Hebrews had the Red Sea , which prevented their passage . All looked lost . At that moment , Moses began to pep , calling them to stand firm and put eyes on the faithfulness of God : "And Moses said to the people
" " Fear not, stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today : for the Egyptians whom you see today you will never see them again " Exodus 14 , 13.
Moses called the people not to panic , not undisciplined start running from one place to another . They must stand firm , honoring his faith and poise the powerful God who brought them out of Egypt, other behavior from the people would have been a disgrace to the God of Israel. I love the expression " " never more will see it forever . '" Our powerful God will fight our battles for us and this cancer, the financial crisis that familiar pain, the marriage crisis , forever ma never see, if you remain steadfast in your FAITH ! HALLELUJAH ! !
Many times , stand firm is a powerful way to glorify God. With this position , we declare our trust in His faithfulness and power. He is also a way to preserve our own dignity as soldiers in the army of the living God . The stay firm in our position , standing on the promises of God , is the only honorable position for a son or daughter of God, even when meat invites us to pull the sword , let's have panic and fled leaving the field battle. For the Christian soldier getaway simply is not an option.
"In the Lord I trust: how say ye to my soul to escape the mountain like a bird "? Psalm 11 .. In other words, if we have truly trusted in the Lord , we have to face the enemy and hold fast our profession. Any suggestions to flee must be received as an insult to our Heavenly Father.
