I have this one in my collection. I always look forward to my Steve Green album coming up in rotation.
What a powerful voice 
I always enjoyed Steve Green. It kind of cracks me up that he left White Heart because "there were too 'rock and roll' for me." One of my favorite Steve Green/White Heart songs ever is this one.
They came out in the early to mid-80's and released 1 album with the lineup of Steve Green on vocals. Then when he decided to leave, the recruited a guy named Scott Douglas who was around for 2 studio albums and 1 live album. Scott, though incredible talented, had a really dark secret. The official story in the normal press said he lured an underaged girl to his house and had sex with her. The unofficial side that ran through Christian circles said that he still did that, but that his step-mother and step-sisters continually raped him when he was growing up. He had serious faults when it came to sex and when a girl offered herself to him, he said okay never asking how old she was. The bottom line though was that he had sex anyway. He made a statement that said he had lost the right to sing in front of anyone and he went to jail for statutory rape.
That was when White Heart almost disappeared. Two of the others, Dann Huff who played guitar and his brother, David Huff left at that point stating they left because of Scott... whether because of what he did or in protest, I don't know. Dann had a student named Gordon Kennedy that learned to play nearly as well as Dann who took the job with White Heart and, oddly enough, the road manager named Ric Florian came in and auditioned for the singing job and White Heart had their third incantation.
Over the years, they had a few more people leave the band but just because they were tired of their schedule. The dark times were over though and Ric continued to sing with a few others who were original members sticking around until the end. Finally, simply because they were too old to keep going, White Heart played one last time and said goodbye.
That was when White Heart almost disappeared. Mid-80's I was only 3 years old hehe and didn't come from a Christian family so my parents would never had listened to this kind of music.
Scott sounded like he had a bad past. Sadly these things happen.

My family sounds like yours except my older sister became saved when she was in junior high. She knew that I loved music so she used music to plant the seed within me. I listened to White Heart as well as Petra, Michael W. I've seen lamer moves on a Cory Lamb video.
I'm not usually one for watching videos, but maybe I should watch a few more white heart videos instead of just listening to the songs all the time.
