Stonehenge, like pretty much all the monolithic ruins and relics in
the world, was built by people who were bigger and smarter than us.

There is more to it than just stones.

The engineering and architectural skills employed in the actual
construction of Stonehenge are mirrored by the ceremonial
sophistication evident in the greater site’s overall design. Famously,
for example, the Stone Circle and Avenue leading 1.8 miles
(3 kilometers) from Stonehenge to the River Avon is built
on the axis of the midsummer sunrise. Whether this alignment
was constructed for sun worship, calendar keeping, or other
purposes remains a matter of much debate.

The Stonehenge World Heritage site includes far more than
the iconic circle. It sprawls over 10 square miles (26.6 square
kilometres) and includes avenues, settlements, some 350 burial
grounds, possible healing centers, and other sites all skillfully
designed to blend into a larger pattern of landscape design.

At least it proves man kind has always been intelligent, not just cave man
grunts. God didn't create grunts. Lol

Looks like a fake photo to me.

The rope is stretched yet the shadow is wavey.

The angle of shadow coming downward from the left of the photo yet the men behind the stones (r) aren't in a shadow.

My guess is that the point being made is that it took a machine to put this stone in place so how did the original builders do it?

Since the hoax was alleged to have occurred in the 1950's then ya'll did the right thing if he said it was the 20's. ;)

It is not necessary the machine but rather the working principle of the hoist that would have been required. Depending on how a hoist is geared makes a tremendous difference in the weight it can lift

Consider the Roman Pantheon, that was a feat in itself not to mention the Pyramids.

The rock surface is 'wavey'; that is why the shadow looks as it does.

The knot is slightly forward - towards the picture frame - from its shadow. The angle of the sunlight is coming from slightly this side of the plane of the picture frame -- from [ very close to ] directly behind the person in white looking back at the camera position.

Compare the rope end dangling from the knot to its shadow. Look at the size, angle, and curvature of it compared to its shadow. Of course, there is a little bit of a 'slant' in the rock face at the point of the shadow - so, you have to take that into consideration as well...

The rock is not between the sun and the men - if only slighly...

The ancients used machines to construct Stone Henge. They used pulleys, levers, ramps and wooden structures to lift the stones in place. If you doubt that this is possible, investigate the Coral Castle in Homestead Florida. One scrawny man (Ed Leedskalnin) lifted multi ton blocks of coral in place by himself to build it.

Consider Babylon. The tower was many times more of an achievement then Stonehenge. There was a reason why God put a stop to it!

This has been posted here before.

The picture is from when Stonehenge was restored. I suppose OP is trying to say that the image is not shopped, but its validity was never in question in the first place.
