praying for you right now, emily.
I don't believe I've ever seen the forum so thirsty.
So lessons learned from today: when telling the story of Judas betraying Jesus to people who have never heard it, you need to explain what kind of kiss it was that Judas gave Jesus. Just the looks on their faces and tone of their voice I know they didn't have the right idea.
reading this made me laugh out loud. : )
in other news, the fact that the power was out for three hours today would've normally threatened to make me cranky, but instead it provided a perfect opportunity to go running outside in this gorgeous weather. so sweetly sunny and crispy all at the same time.
you know, the kind of weather where you can run in shorts and long sleeved t shirts and be perfectly comfy? i loooove that.
oh, and SPF 175

you know what's funny? i used to be one of those people who couldn't fathom why anyone would want to run. i thought it was some weird thing that people only do when they have nothing better to do or obsessed with exercise (or something like that).
i used to say, "i'll run if someone is chasing me, but until then..."
anyway, about 8 years ago, when i was still in recovery from my accident, my trainer challenged me to do something that would be a radical departure from my normal, pilates-type stuff. i was pretty skeptical from the outset and rather loudly objected.
at some point, i started running on my own sporadically. then it just slowly seeped into my life. running has such a peaceful (daresay zen) effect and a great way to clear your mind of thought. i find it to be a good time to pray.
probably my favorite thing about running though is that i don't sleep all that well when i don't spend all my energy. and running works pretty well for doing just that.
if running was a pill, i would imagine it'd be a quadruple-shot energy drink, a tranquilizer, a muscle relaxant and an anti-depressant all rolled into one. and that's just the beginning of the list of benefits.
who wouldn't take that???
