What's a 'civil war picnic?'
The Civil War was a war in American when the States were divided, north vs south, during they years 1861 to 1865. There are Civil War reenactments they wear they style of clothing then. That was a style of dress worn back then.

I have ALWAYS wanted to see one! A man that went to our church used to participate in a lot of the Civil War reenactments around here.

That was in reference to yesterday/last night....thank you Fenner for praying for me, and for anyone else who prayed for me.
I was really stressed yesterday. I had schoolwork and dishes to do. And the internet on my computer (at least the wifi) has been out for two, going on three days now. I didn't want to start any online work that required me having to save word documents and stuff because it's such a hassle transferring files from one computer to another, even with a flash drive. Dishes were piling high, did a little schoolwork, but not as much as what I wanted to do. And I just felt....overwhelmed yesterday. Just from those silly things. They WERE silly things to be overwhelmed with. But regardless, I was just down and out and feeling like an emotional mess.
I'm feeling better today. And hopefully I stay that way.

It really bothers me when someone says irrational gooble gobs of stuff and claims, God tell's me what to say. Then they post that for all to see. I'm going to tell you something right now, if it sounds like a bunch of stuff that's because it is. God doesn't tell people to post whacked out stuff. It really bothers me when it's posted in the Young Adult or Teen Discussion forum by an adult.
What kind of example is that? Maybe there just be a thread for, If you have out there thoughts and you think it's God telling you to share them, post them here. I know should just ignore it, but don't post that stuff in those threads. That's the last thing those kids need to read.

Dude! Why do you say these things? Why do you hurt yourself so? You're so mean to yourself! Do you think for a second that anybody here would let you get away with saying things like this if you were talking to somebody else? Well, I can't let you get away with this either! Do you know how much you're worth? Do you read your own signature lines? Searching4truth doesn't deserve this and you can't speak to him like this! I like him - I consider him a friend of mine and you can leave him alone. Matter of fact, you're going to have to go through me first before you speak to him like that again.
Searching4Truth is WORTH things.
Whatever you think you wanna do (unless it's praying), you probably don't wanna do it. It'll bite you in the butt either sooner or later. I can't say I've done anything irrational out of depression, but I sure have thought them. And I can tell you right now, even then, looking at all the possibilities, there's nothing else that's going to work besides praying through it and letting someone you know personally and in real life how you feel. It sucks to be vulnerable. But it's something necessary at times. Just make sure it's someone you really trust. A person you really feel like you can talk to. Someone who won't blab to other people.

My son came and sat down on the couch next to me one day and said... I hate myself i need to be thrown away in the trash can. It absolutely broke my heart.
I wonder if you said these things to your mother what she would say back to you. I don't say that in a guilt trip kind of way(not at all!), i say that as in i bet your the apple of your moms eye, she would probably die a thousand deaths just for you. Just think how much more your creator would feel about you.
I'll tell you exactly what i told him, and i really mean this with my whole heart.

well, you're in the right place. I stay numb around here.
Look my friend, you've had these episodes before. You get lost in your own darkness and somehow you find your way out. I'm just afraid you'll wander on down there so deep you won't find your way home.
You're a Christian brother of mine and you and I share a lifeline in Christ. I would be negligent if I didn't encourage you to find help with this "darkness" you sometimes lose yourself in. When I accepted this common faith we share, I acknowledged there are not only forces for good but forces for evil. As well as those forces for Good know my strengths and weaknesses, so do those forces for evil. So I acknowledge that evil also knows where I can lose myself and where I can separate myself from God. So it is with you. Do you think this darkness happens to you by accident? I contend sir, that it does not.
So then it becomes our responsibility to not visit those places and to help other's out. Could it be that when you learn your way out that you can teach others? Could it be that God teaches us by trial?
For those who learn so much - much is expected.

I did cry, it was the saddest thing ever.
I don't believe he feels like that anymore... thankfully. He was frustrated with school and he wasn't catching on as fast as the others because he was the youngest. I think it was giving him pretty low self esteem. He is actually at the top of his class now so things are MUCH better.

My son is 8 and he told me the other day that, everyone is against him. I was shocked and sad. I asked him, why? He doesn't have problems in school and he actually has a lot of friends. I asked him if someone was being mean to him or do you have trouble with your work? No, no.
Later I asked him again if he still felt like that and he said no. But I'm keeping an ear and eye on things. It broke my heart when he said it. The thought of anyone hurting my kids feelings is tough. I know most Mom and Dad's feel very defensive of their own children. I wish we could keep them from getting hurt forever.
