I meant, I thought girls would be far more likely to care that the guy they were dating looked presentable, than guys care about the girl they were dating looking presentable. Presentable in this case merely refers to ironed clothing.

I don't know... I would be a little bothered if the guy showed up totally wrinkled... but if he was a great guy and we got along fine, then who cares about ironing???? hehehehehe

I guess it would be okay, as long as the guy's clothes were ironed and he wasn't wrinkled.

Hmm... Good point, sister. But I can't help thinking that looking presentable is just another way to honour someone.

Well... again... depends on the guy... Simon Baker is wrinkled and I wouldn't mind at all... :D

Okay, Carol. Fair point. Simon Baker is pretty smooth (uh, wrinkly).
What about Pixar's Geri? He's a bit of a looker. Brainy too. And look at that crisp, white shirt.

While I do think looking presentable relates to honouring someone, I was being cheeky. I'm rarely serious. If ever. No, well, sometimes. Once in a blue moon. Maybe.
 
just got off the phone with an insurance company.

let's just say... i wanna kick someone in the shins.

I was offered the finger of choice by irrate individuals by a very sweet looking Grandma in a wal mart parking lot and Im still bothered by it. I was attempting to leave the parking lot via the main road..not an isle row. This woman was walking down the middle of said road and I waited patiently as she passed up 2 isles so I had no idea where she was headed and assumed she didnt realize she was in the middle of the road. I tooted very lightly on my horn to let her know I needed to pass and as she turned around to see me I even waved with a smile. You know the "excuse me smile wave I need to pass" wave. She followed my wave with her gesture of disapproval and stated yelling something. So I turned down another isle to just get away. Just miffed and upset because my son was in the car and started laughing at the "funky grandma"

I never have good experiences at wal mart.
 
The thing I just don't understand are women who dress their man. Pick out their "outfit" and demand they wear what they picked out. I mean they are grown men for crying out loud, they can pick out what to wear and majority of them look pretty darn good in things they put on. After all its not the clothes that make the man, it's the man that makes the clothes.

Just sayin'

I thought or pictured being called to walk on a fractured leg. This may not appeal to us as "good news", but in reality it is. God wants to use us even before we 'feel' ready.

I believe Our Lord is calling His body to 'step out' In His purposes for our lives, and as we do, He is going to bring healing and wholeness on route. It's in knowing our vulnerability, that we realise our utter dependence on His ability to work through us- rags and all. Consider the Jars of clay and their fragility.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

Don't let it get to you too much...there's something in the air in and around Walmarts everywhere that brings out the worst in most people. Whatever it is just sucks all the class and manners right out of everyone. Almost everyone, I mean.

...what I'm saying is, that's a bummer of an experience and you should have run her ov- I mean, it sounds like you handled it well.
