Hello everyone I hope your all having a nice day:) , I need some help and advice. I am very confused, I was saved when I was younger but since then it's been like a rollercoaster. I keep straying away from God more and more, I keep coming back to Him to straighten my life but I always end up with the same worldy patterns as before and it gets worse each time. This is all really hard to explain in words. I feel like I'm in a black hole and I can never get out! How do I get a better relationship with Jesus? And how do I seek God? Is it just reading the Bible and praying more? I'm so frustrated I dont even know how to explain in typing!!! I really need help, doubts are crossing my mind telling me that I won't go to heaven, and that I'll never change. I'm sick of living the way I've been living, I want a change. Please I would appreciate some advice and encouragement, Thankyou.

Hi Epic,

It's hard as a new Christian to get out of the world! Are you part of a church or other assembly of Christians? If so, can you find an older, more mature Christian who can disciple you? Discipling is one-on-one Bible study to help you grow in your walk with Jesus. It's very helpful!

Reading the Bible and praying is VERY important, but the encouragement of other Christians is essential.

I agree staying close to God through bible reading and prayer is important but bible study with a mature Christian is also essential. Every time you find yourself in the world, you need to turn your mind back to God. It is hard at first but the more you practice it, the easier it will become. You basically need to be vigilant about where your mind, body and soul want to go and use your faith to steer them in the right direction.

Hi, How do you know, or do you mean to say you made a proffession of faith?
Thats the first milestone and would explain straying.

The next question, is there a pet sin that your not willing to give up, that you keep going back to and the guilt of that sin causing the distance that seems to grow.

Your relationship will grow by being in the word if you are truly His.
When things are normal:
Are you in the word daily or twice a day?
Do you pray daily or twice a day?
Do you faithfully attend church?
Do you love just being around other Christians?
Do you share your faith regulary?
Do you find yourself singing or listen to Hymns of praise?
Do you enjoy listening to sermons throughout the week?
Is Jesus Christ the most important person in your life is He at the center of all you do?
If you cant answer yes to all of these I would examine yourself to see if you really are saved.
