Normally the photographer pans with the bike so that the background is blurred. The more blur
the greater the apperance of speed. This shooter took the opposite approach for an excellent shot.
His timing had to be perfect for the bike to be in frame when the shutter closed. Otherwise he would
have had only a light streak. This is not one of my shots but I did try this technique without good results.
So I tip my hat to the shooter.

Someone else pointed out that this high jump was 33 Stories! That's like jumping off a skyscraper with nothing more than skis to slow you down.

Wow, that's an incredible skill!
I can't imagine how much training/ practice it took to get to that point.
The maximum altitude would depend on how high the craft could take you. Altitude is measured from sea level, so the actual shape of the earth should not be a consideration.
Gravity is not a consideration. What goes up really does come down, unless there is another force to overcome gravity.
