Perhaps not the best place to pose this question, but hopefully some of the married (or previously married) people can answer this.

I had gotten to a point where it seemed like God was wanting me to stay single, so I moved on focused on God and started making plans (such as adoption, because I always wanted a little girl), then God moved in and next thing I know I am married to a lovely christian woman. God will bring the right person when the time comes, be patient, keep your priorities straight (and your standards in a spouse), and keep your eyes open.

Short answer.... No

The long Answer.... Not really

I tend to think that the more time I spend focused on God, the less it seems that I am going to find a wife...not that I am actively looking. I know that I will be happy either way; single or married.

See that is the important point, we are to be happy with God's will no matter what that means.

Um, it's a yes for me.

I wasn't especially interested in marriage, but really just wanted to find someone to be with.

When I stopped looking for someone to be with and got serious about being obedient to God, He sent me someone and we were married.

For me, that's the long and the short of it, but I will say that I was nearly 30 years old when I got married and had been through quite a bit. It took a lot of trials and tests to make me the person that I am, and the same goes for my husband. If we had met each other just 5 years earlier, we wouldn't have been ready and probably wouldn't have even been interested in dating each other. Once we met, things moved quickly, but there was a lot that lead up to us meeting in the first place.

Everyone is on their personal walk. Your path may not intersect with your spouse's path until later on. Patience is good, but obedience is better. There's nothing to sit around waiting for, but there's everything to be working toward. God could be waiting on you to become something better in your own right before He sends you a partner. Or maybe the partner for you isn't ready yet.
