I listened to my church who said that we must not worship God through rituals. I wasn't even to study them to learn what they were about. I was elderly when I broke enough with my church to study them and found God's complete plan for our salvation laid out in these feasts. It made my life center on God by how I lived it day to day. It was like being set free of rules to keep me from living.
My family is still bound by the rule to "don't do this, and don't do that". The NT was supposed to set us free, and God meant it that way. Christ's forgiveness is freely given, we are included without becoming Jews. The rituals have spiritual meanings, and it is the spiritual meanings that God sees. If we worship in spirit and truth, we don't have to also worship by what we do, except we must keep in mind that faith without works is dead. For the early pagans, they wouldn't have accepted God if it meant changing completely how they lived, so these rules our church has for us to keep us away from the feasts were beneficial then. We aren't pagans any longer, we are Christians. It is such a delight to use these feasts in our worship, now.
What a joy it has been to be free to live out the rituals that make those spiritual principles clear in human terms!
