Take responsibility for your actions

Luke 23:32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.

These two men signify all the sinners, we all will fall into one of these two categories.

33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

If Jesus had not prayed for forgiveness there would have been judgment. The reason that He prayed this was because "they know not what they are doing". That is the point of gospel preaching during the church age, so that everyone knows what they are doing. This is why in the book of Revelation we see the wrath of God poured out. The gospel was published and preached in all the nations. Those who were left rejected it. They knew what they were doing and still acted according to their blackened heart.

35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. 36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, 37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.

Both Jews and Gentiles mocked Him. However, by not saving Himself He did save us. The price had to be paid for our sins, had he "saved Himself" He would not have paid the price with His blood and we would not be forgiven and not saved.

38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, This Is The King Of The Jews.

The gospel is preached and published in all the languages of the nations, so that will not be an excuse.

39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

This is the key point, confess your sins, repent of them, take responsibility for your actions.

43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Oops, did you make a big mistake?

Luke 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

This is not a solar eclipse. An eclipse only lasts for a minute or two, not for three hours. This suggests to me that prior to the rapture there will be three days of darkness. The raptured saints go through this darkness for three hours while those left behind stay for the entire three days. My understanding is that during these three hours we see all of our sins, it gives us a chance to confess and repent of these sins to the Lord if they have not already been confessed and repented of.

45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.

This took place at Passover so the temple would have been occupied by the Levites and they would have been eyewitnesses.

46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

According to the pattern this would depict the rapture. The door to heaven is open and there will be a large cry from the Lord to gather His saints.

47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

The whole world knows about Christianity, the New Testament and the gospel. When they see the rapture they will know that surely these people being taken were righteous men and women.

48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.

Yes, they will realize at that moment they made a huge mistake and now they are left behind in the tribulation.

What do you do if you are left behind?

Luke 23:49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.

OK, look, you were a Christian who stood afar off beholding these things. Here is a pattern of what you should do.

50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just: 51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God. 52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. 53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.

Take a stand for the Body of Christ.

54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. 55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. 56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

OK, you didn't get to anoint His body beforehand for the burial, you missed that chance. Well repentance means you will anoint His body after the burial.

Hanukah and the Rapture

Hanukah is the rededication of the temple after it had become defiled.

Revelation 3:10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.

According to both the Old Testament and the New Testament we are made clean by keeping the Lord's commands. We are sanctified by the Lord's word. Hanukah was kept on the same day that the Greek's defiled the temple and the story is all about the Jews rededicating the temple, sanctifying it again. It takes seven days to sanctify the temple and that is the hour of trial that is going on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. It is a seven day trial or a seven year tribulation. That is why the Hanukah lamp has nine candlesticks, and not seven. It takes seven days to sanctify the lampstand, then on the eighth day they can burn the light which is now sanctified. The ninth candlestick is the servant that lights the eight lamps.

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In the book of Maccabees about the account of rededicating the temple the Jews found oil in the temple, the problem was it did not have a seal on it so they did not know who it was from. That meant the oil was not sanctified. Prior to the rapture many people are flippant with the New Testament thinking that if they do a work in the name of Jesus Christ that is good enough. The Lord tells them, no, I need to know you, I need to know that this oil is sanctified. After being left behind you will not be so flippant.

Matthew 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

The seven year tribulation is when foolish virgins will be paying the price to buy the oil for themselves. Prior to the rapture they thought they could simply borrow others oil. They come to church, the pastor shares a message, and that is their oil for the week. The story of Hanukah is about a seven day period in which the oil is sanctified, this is the paying the price to have oil for yourself.

Revelation 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

These witnesses are the "servant candle" that you use to light the other 8 candles.

Zechariah 4:1 And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep. 2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: 3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

The two witnesses are called olive trees, they are the ones that those who are left behind, the foolish virgins, are to buy the oil from. You can't use oil that is not sanctified, and the oil cannot be sanctified unless you have a sanctified priest. These two will be sanctified priests supplying the sanctifying oil.

I have already pointed out that fifty days after Hanukah you have the feast of trees, that might be a day for the two witnesses to begin their ministry and 1,260 days after that you have the 9th of Av, a reasonable time for the two witnesses to be killed and for the Jews to then see that Jesus is the Messiah and repent and turn to the Lord.

Ask and it shall be given

Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

This is a new beginning. It is a new beginning that all believers have experienced.

2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

This is like Abraham going out without knowing where he is going. They went to the tomb not knowing how they would be able to roll away the stone. This is what walking by faith is like. People who walk by logic will say "what is the point, the sepulchre has a big stone in front of it and two guards, you will not be able to anoint the body". This the promise we have been given, knock and it shall be opened.

3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

Again, this is the promise given to us "seek and you shall find".

4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words, 9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

This is the promise given to us, ask and it shall be given. Think about Wayne Gretzky, he asked to play hockey when he was six and the youngest team was ten and under. How does a six year old play with ten year olds unless he is given the resurrection power. Same thing with Tom Brady, drafted 199, he was the fourth quarterback on the roster the first year. How does this guy become the quarterback who goes to ten superbowls and wins seven but for the resurrection power. Ask for the resurrected Christ to be real in your life. That it would be no longer you that live but Christ that lives in you.

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Luke 24:10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. 12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.

They thought it was a joke, no one believed them, so why do you think it was Peter who was the first to go check this out? This wasn't simply a miracle to him, this could be salvation. The last time he saw Jesus was when he had denied Him three times. You don't want to have to live with that. If Jesus has risen from the dead then Peter gets a second chance. The women went to the tomb because of Love, Peter runs there because of Hope.

13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

They reasoned means they were in their mind, not in their spirit.

17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

Their focus is on current events and not on the word of God.

19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

"We trusted" for all of a few hours and then we threw in the towel. They are quitting, they are surrendering.

22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. 24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.

This is faithless. We have all been there.

25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Praying the word of God

Luke 24:28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

I like to use the analogy of a basketball team. You are the coach of your team, you can use your intellect, you can use your logic, your reasoning, your emotions, your will. You have a whole bunch of players, it is up to you who to put into the game. But at the end of the bench you have Jesus Christ. You can be a very good coach with a losing record, but even a terrible coach who simply puts Jesus Christ into the game will look good, even great. He is not going to force Himself on you, it is up to you to ask Him to go into the game. Maybe logically you have no chance, no hope. OK, replace logic, pull logic out of the game and put in Jesus Christ.

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

He is not going to take the bread and bless it unless you ask Him to. Doesn't have to be a long winded prayer, simply "Lord please bless this message".

31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

Lord Jesus please open the eyes of all here so that we can see You.

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

Again, we have faith, hope and love, you need all three. It all begins with the scriptures, praying over them and praying for the Lord to open them and bless them.

33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

Pray over others testimonies for the Lord to confirm the word.

What do you think happens in the resurrection?

Luke 24:36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43 And he took it, and did eat before them. 44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Our natural thought is to think that in heaven and after the resurrection we will be spiritual without a body. But why would God create the bodies if they are to be thrown away? God did an awesome job with the creation, do you really think that is all temporary? The Bible says that all of creation groans for the revealing of the sons of God. Do you think they are groaning so that all creation can be done away with? Jesus has a body and He has risen from the grave. He can eat, they can touch Him, but at the same time He can simply appear.

I think this passage is here so that we can know what the 144,000 will be like. After the rapture the left behind will not be left alone. The two witnesses will be with them, the Lord will be with them, the Holy Spirit will be with them and I think the 144,000 will also be with them.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

This is our mission, our assignment, during the church age.

49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

This is a reference to spiritual power. Jesus ascended to the throne, He opened the scroll making Him Lord of all. Think of this authority that we are endued with from on high being a badge indicating that we are part of His police force. Jesus had authority to cast demons out and to heal the sick. We have been given the same authority.

50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

This is the ascension, we learn later that this took place at Shavuot. We also know that the power was endued from on high on Pentecost which is fifty days after Shavuot on the feast of New Wine.

52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: 53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

The book of Luke talks about Lazarus dying, and someone dying at the same time who asked the Lord to send someone back from the dead to his brethren to warn them of hell. I think that Lazarus depicts the raptured saints prior to the seven year tribulation. Luke is written to these saints, in this book we learn of them being crucified with Christ and that it is no longer they that live but Christ that lives in them, but we don't see them raptured. Instead we see them in the temple praising and blessing God continually right up until the day they are raptured.

I used to subscribe to the teaching of Darby and Watchman Nee on this, however, everyone should know that when they taught the US was not a superpower, Hollywood and Multinational corporations did not exist (true for Darby, Watchman Nee was around at the time of silent movies). The pandemic had not taken place and the apostasy in the US had not taken place. You could not compare the US to Sodom and Gomorrah at the time of Darby or Watchman Nee.

What do you do when you are lost and things get confusing?

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

I was in the boyscouts growing up and we used to go on hikes every weekend. Some would be relatively short like a ten mile hike, but every year we would do a couple of thirty mile hikes and one "fifty mile hike" which meant it was longer than 50 miles because once it was 68 miles. I say all this because you have to be able to follow a trail in the woods and often we would get off the trail. It is far easier than you would imagine because there are different trails criss crossing in the woods and you need to be on the right one. Whenever that happens you have to go back to where you last saw the trail marker.

Today the gospel has gotten off, we have many Christians claiming to be the church with an LGBTQ+ agenda. We have churches flying pride flags. We have Mega churches whose message is very much akin to a "power of positive thinking seminar". We have people preaching the "prosperity gospel". We have people preaching Calvinism. I was invited to speak on a Christian podcast and they wanted me to send them my salvation experience first. In that experience I shared about praying and believing in the Lord, about prayers being answered and about my experience being baptized. They responded that my mentioning baptism was some kind of red flag to them. They were so insanely against "works based salvation" that they could not even hear about someone who believed in the Lord and was baptized.

But it is worse than that, I got into a debate with someone about abortion. They pulled out some new translation of the Bible which they said was better than the older translations that distorted the account of a jealous husband taking his wife to the priest when he suspected her of adultery to an account of how the priest performs an abortion. I explained to this woman and her husband that this was a phony translation and the husband cried 'what are we to believe with so many translations, how can we know which one is right?' What they had confused was the Old Testament with the New Testament. We do not have any complete New Testament manuscripts. There was such persecution of the early church that the New Testament had been divided up so that the members would each have a few pages they could hide. This is why there are two, maybe three manuscripts which are considered the most authoritative. But that is not true of the Old Testament. There have been complete manuscripts of the Old Testament for thousands of years. The idea that someone in the last decade has found an authoritative version of the book of Numbers which is better than the ones the Jews have had for thousands of years is absurd.

So what do you do when you are lost and confused? You have to go back to where you were definitely on the right path. If you go all the way back to Genesis 1 you will see that the word was with God and was God.

In my personal. beginning with God it began with a word. I heard them say that when Jesus returns He will return in great glory. Now that word was with God, it wasn't with me. My prayer was I want to be there, I want to be with Jesus when He returns. That word became the Lord Jesus speaking to me.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

The word I heard was not the word that Adam first heard. But that word that I heard was the same as the word that all believers first heard in that it was God's speaking to them.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

This is another curve ball. Satan would have you believe that we have smart people and stupid people, we have hard working industrious people and we have lazy people. The reality is that all things were made by the word of God. All things, especially all people have a unique function. For example a car jack has a very specific function and is amazing. A small 120 pound woman can lift a car with a car jack. However, it is pretty much useless for any other function. We have other things like a knife that can be used for many functions every day, whereas the car jack might only be used once or twice in your lifetime. The same idea is true of the human body, when it comes to seeing an eyeball is a genius, but when it comes to hearing it is completely useless. Your nose performs a remarkable function and yet many people don't like their nose thinking it makes them ugly. We need to see people this way. Everyone has a function, but for any member of the body to function it must have life, and it must be built up in the body.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

When you are filled with life then you can function and that functioning is the light of men. Every person wants to know what their purpose is, no one wants to live a life devoid of any purpose. Since our purpose is to be a member of the body of Christ, unless we are a member of the Body of Christ we are living a vain, purposeless life. But when you become a member of the body the word of God that is in you will light up, that will lead you in the path you should go and that in turn will cause you to function in the Body.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Here we see that our experience is just like the experience we read about in Genesis 1. God spoke the word to you when you were in darkness. The darkness did not comprehend it, and that includes the darkness in you. But that also means it didn't overcome it. Just like a small candle in a very dark night, that light became a guiding light. It led you to the body of Christ and it led you to becoming a functioning member. It also provoked the prince of darkness to fight against you.

Discerning the true light from the false light

John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

Do you understand? John the Baptist is an example of a witness of the Lord. Look at his life, it began with the word of God, the word was with God in the Old Testament, and when it was spoken to John's father it was God's speaking. That word caused all things to happen, it caused his father to be unable to speak, it caused his mother to get pregnant, and it caused him to have his ministry. His ministry was a light that the darkness was unable to overcome. People were confused, they were lost, they were in darkness, but his ministry was a light to lead them out of the darkness.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

This is our mission during the church age, to bear witness of the light that all men through our ministry might believe. This is why there are so many ministries. Some have a "prison ministry", others have a "soup kitchen ministry" and still others have a teaching ministry. This is because we want all men to believe, not just prisoners and the homeless, but all men.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Anyone who presents themself as the light is a false prophet.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

There are false lights, there is a wisdom of this world that is evil. It is essential to be able to discern the true light from the false light. It all begins with the word of God.

Bizarre teachings of the New Testament

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Why do you think that is? For me, Christians seemed like wimps. I didn't want anything to do with them. I did not know what I wanted to do, but I was absolutely sure I did not want to be a priest.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

This is the way the gospel is. If you have been to prison you have an inside track on having a prison ministry. If you have been homeless you have an inside track on having a soup kitchen ministry. Every one of us has our own testimony about why we didn't know God, what was it that the prince of darkness was doing to keep us blinded? For example, I was in Sunday school and the Sunday school teacher gave each of us crayons to draw a picture with and told us to draw a picture of God. I thought this is stupid, took a yellow crayon, scribbled a little and showed it to him saying "God is glory" and that "no one knows what he looks like". He said, "if Jesus is God then doesn't He look like a man?" That was like a bolt of light, it never occurred to me the implications of Jesus Christ being God. That led to me getting saved. At first I rejected it, the idea that one man walking around in sandals was God seemed too far out to believe.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

But you know what was even more far out, if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the son of God you also become a son of God!

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

A brand new car with an empty gas tank and a dead battery

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This is why we have so much confusion and darkness, the word of God is not made flesh to these ones. We need to pray that the word of God would be made flesh and that we would behold His glory, only then can we see what it is to be full of grace and truth.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

John had an experience of seeing the word of God made flesh and beholding His glory. This is what we need to share, our testimonies of seeing the Lord Jesus.

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

If you have not received of His fulness then you can't minister grace for grace. In the final analysis the whole point of this thread on the rapture is so that we could be raptured. Right now this word is with God, we need it to be one with us. Our goal is for this to be our experience.

17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

The law condemned us because we could not pay the price for our sins. But when Jesus came He paid the price, He fulfilled the requirements of the law and so it became grace and truth to us. Religion apart from Jesus Christ as the incarnated word is simply the law that condemns us. It is like being given a wonderful new car only the gas tank is empty and the battery is dead.

Justification and Sanctification

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Before a baby is born it can hear the father's voice, but it can't see the father. The rapture is the birth, prior to the rapture we can hear the Lord's voice, but after the rapture we will be able to see the Father.

19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? 20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. 21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. 22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? 23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

Cult leaders will claim to be someone special, someone who has a special anointing, a prophet, an apostle, etc. However, the proper attitude for believers is that we are the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord.

24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees. 25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet? 26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; 27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

Baptism is surprisingly controversial. It is so obviously Biblical that it always surprises me when people have a problem with it. What most people call salvation is more precisely called Justification. We are justified by believing in Jesus Christ and receiving the work done by Him on the cross. But that is not sanctification. You can have the most corrupt, evil person confess their sins and repent and receive Jesus and they are justified. But they are not sanctified. They do not express a holy God. After they pray and receive the Lord you would not want them to immediately become a pastor. Baptism is a public confession that you have crossed over from the world to the camp of the Lord. In one sense it is like crossing the red sea and Pharaoh's armies getting drowned as they pursue you. In another example it is like entering into Noah's ark while the flood wipes out all those who reject the gospel. But we are told by Jesus that we are to baptize (immerse) people into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. If you are immersed into the triune God it will change you. It will change your thinking, it will change your behavior, and rather than being common, sinful, and worldly you will become sanctified.

We used to be a slave of sin. Jesus' blood broke those bonds and freed us. But we still had the mentality and behavior of a slave. It is by sanctification that we are transformed. If you immerse a tree in a lake that is saturated with jasper it will replace the carbon in the tree with the jasper and you will get petrified wood. That is the picture, not of some ceremony that we did forty years ago, but of a person who is immersed into the triune God and being transformed from a tree into petrified wood. The trees get tossed into the fire and will burn up, the petrified wood can pass through the fire.

SHILOH - NEW MOON - ESTHER / DECEMBER 20-22, 2025

The first day of the Month of Tevet, a month that commemorates the siege of Jerusalem and an appropriate month for the seven year tribulation to begin as a siege on the people of God.

The Sun is darkened tomorrow as it is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year for the northern hemisphere, and the moon will not give her light as it is a dark moon.

The Feast of Trees is 45 days later. When you figure in three days of darkness it is a complete 40 days and nights of fasting after that. It seems reasonable for the ministry of the two witnesses called Olive trees, to begin on the Feast of Trees. If we go exactly 42 months until they are killed it would be around the 15th of Av, a very fitting day, and if we go 42 months from there we come right before Hanukkah starts. In other words the church age begins with Hanukah and ends right before Hanukah.

Behold the Lamb of God

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

I get that it is hard to know who to believe with all the various claims and false prophets and different religions. So first and foremost, the lamb of God takes away the sin of the world. He doesn't excuse it. He doesn't ignore it. He takes it away. FreeMasons excuse sin saying that humans are simply animals and so murder and adultery are simply natural for animals. Calvinists ignore it. You prayed twenty years ago so don't worry, you are going to heaven. Ascetics flagellate themselves, they punish themselves for sin, but that doesn't take the sins away.

30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Jesus came before John the Baptist, there are many accounts concerning Him in the Old Testament, they will also help identify Him, especially all the prophecies about the crucifixion that were fulfilled. After John the Baptist He was preferred by the New Testament, another prophecy that was hard to believe at the time it was given.

31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

John was given a ministry that Jesus should be made manifest to Israel even though He didn't know who He was. So then, if you believe that John the Baptist was sent from God you should understand that God sent Him so that the Messiah could be made manifest to Israel. This is similar to people who don't know the day or the hour of the rapture but have begun speaking concerning the rapture and how the rapture is about to take place.

32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

God gave John a sign by which he would know Him. In the same way we can all pray for God to give us a sign to help us know the truth.

33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
