Lord Jesus you are a righteous king. You said "as you have done it will be done to you". The enemy has tried to infiltrate the church, so I pray that their gatherings would be infiltrated. They have used snares to catch the believers like a fowler catches birds, so I pray they would be snared. They have used a pestilence to inflict and injure the saints so I pray that the curses they have hurled on the believers would be done to them. They want us afraid of the terror by night and they want us to fear the arrow that flies by the day, so Lord I pray that as they have done, may it be done unto them that some might repent, confess, and turn to You. Lord Jesus, we bow to You, You promised that we would see the reward of the wicked. We pray that your will would be done according to Your wisdom, that many may turn and repent when they see the reward of the wicked.

The Lord's approach is mighty. He sends people who according to Christ are meek and gentle, but who are perceived as base by unbelievers to preach the gospel to you. By comparison the mockers and scoffers are bold, they are arrogant, they "know all things". Their wisdom and knowledge is a "strong hold". What is an atheist but someone whose imaginations exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. However, the saying "the bigger they are the harder they fall" fits them. When they are cast down they are put to an open shame, they are thoroughly and utterly humiliated, and only then can they begin again after being humbled to receive the word of God. For example, in Joshua 10:12-14 Joshua commands the sun to stand still and the moon. People interpret that as the earth suddenly stopping its rotation and describe that as the most horrific event as the earth which is rotating at 1,000 mph comes to a quick stop. That would impact the entire earth, it would be catastrophic and all the other civilizations would have had stories about this event. But do you see the mistake? Joshua did not command the earth to stop spinning. Instead there is a theory that the solar system is a binary star system with our other star being a brown dwarf. It is much smaller than our sun and gives off much less light that our sun. However, if it were passing close to the earth it would be appropriate to call it "the sun" and if it were much closer to the earth that the sun it might be the same size and brightness. In this situation it would be very plausible for an astronomical body like this to appear to "stand still for a number of hours" and for its gravitational pull to impact the moon as well. They mock things they don't know. Let me give you another example, last Sunday it was 0 degrees F and we had a massive snow storm. In some places not too far from here they had three feet of snow. Six days later it was 80 degrees and all the snow was gone. Now if I was writing an account and put those two facts together mockers and scoffers would suggest that I had combined two days separated by months. They would argue the one day was clearly in the winter and the other day clearly in the summer. What they think is logic is actually foolishness. No one makes a big deal about one day being 0 degrees with a lot of snow and six days later it is 20 degrees, why even mention it. But if the change is from a massive winter storm to a hot summer day all in six days, that they are going to record. As it turns out there is more astronomical evidence of this binary star system with this Brown dwarf taking 500 years to revolve around out main sun. This would also explain the sun being darkened for three hours when Jesus was on the cross. There is no solar eclipse from the moon that would last for three hours. But if this second star were passing along with planets that revolve around it, one of those could have blocked the sun for three hours.

This is not hypothetical, I saw this take place as a geologist. When I was in high school a geologist gave the theory that an asteroid hitting the earth wiped out the dinosaurs. He was mocked and ridiculed, the theory at the time was that "the present is the key to the past". During human history we had not seen asteroids wiping out humanity, therefore this didn't happen in the past. As absurd as that sounds, that is what "the experts" said. But he continued to find more and more evidence. Then in one day everything changed from "this guy is a wackadoodle Christian" to "oh yeah, everyone knows that". Today everyone knows an asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs. Why did they have a problem accepting that? Because they used this same theory of "the present is the key to the past" to mock the idea of a flood wiping out all the creatures at the time of Noah. But some people have researched this. We discovered that at the base of the black sea there was a city, it was flooded when the Black sea was flooded after the end of the ice age. If Noah's ark had been built down there as the Black sea filled up it could have risen from there. Then we discovered a huge asteroid had hit the Indian ocean at the same time thrusting up giant tsunami that left chevrons a thousand feet high on Madagascar. An event this big would have vaporized a huge amount of water, going into the stratosphere, circling the globe and then coming back down as hot rain or warm rain. That could explain the forty days and nights of rain. That would also cause a very rapid melting of glacial highlands and sure enough we discovered monster floods 40 cubits deep that came out of the Rockies and the Himalayas. We can calculate the depth of the water by the height of the ripple marks left behind, ripple marks that we had thought were hills until we got a clearer view from airplanes. We also saw 200 different species go extinct at this time on all six continents. There is no plausible theory as to why this would happen other than this flood. We also have archaelogical evidence in which there are at least two hundred separate accounts of a great flood. Finally, Noah's ark itself was found as well as other ancient artifacts to Noah and his family.

The reality is that "experts" have been lying to you and that is for a specific purpose. It may be that the scientist is a "good" person, but the people funding the research demand small changes. They call this flood "the Missoula flood" or "the ice age flood" rather than Noah's flood. They "hypothesize" great "ice age dams" bursting. It is an absurd hypothesis. Right now we are seeing glaciated highlands melt and we have yet to see them form any "great ice dams". If it were to rain for forty days and forty nights on glaciated highlands you would have huge flash floods and the melting ice would make things worse. Noah's flood is by far the best explanation for everything we have found.

Now what do you think happens when all these things they have been mocking and scoffing come to pass, and they are exposed as frauds, liars and scammers? Either they will be totally humbled, realize they have played the fool due to their arrogance in exalting their own puny minds over God's word, and they'll repent. Or their disobedience will be punished in trying to hold down the truth and deceive people. Light and truth cannot be hid, cannot be held down. These are the weapons of our warfare. We understand what is going to happen and so we are gentle and meek today to make things easier for people to repent and not be broken in two.
 
2Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

Right now the world is at war and they are warring after the flesh. Drones, missiles, bombs, are only one aspect of warring after the flesh. Misinformation, fake news, lies, propaganda, this is a second aspect of warring after the flesh. Insulting those that disagree with you, mocking, scoffing, trolls, this is a third aspect of warring after the flesh.

By now we should realize that killing people does not pull down strong holds. How many people have terrorists killed? That is not a persuasive argument. It may be that there is unrighteousness and a legitimate offense they are objecting to, but killing innocent people who were not involved in this dispute does not persuade me that your cause is just.

We should also be able to realize by now that people do not forget these offenses. How long has the Mideast crisis been going on? I would argue this has been going on for thousands of years. We have been looking at prophecies, but I suspect those prophecies are based on the fact that seeds were sown and God knew they would grow until we came to this point.

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Right now the news is focused on the armies, the weapons of war, AI, and who is allied with who. These are all vain imaginations. If you think your weapons are more important than repentance to God, then you are exalting those things against the knowledge of God. To me it is like a chess game. You can do the hard work of thinking through each move ahead of time and realizing that every attempt at peace will fail unless repentance to God is the foundation of your approach. But most people will not do that hard work, and so they mock and scoff at warnings. Instead they play out the chess game, do what is right in their own eyes, until it becomes very obvious you lose, and total nuclear war is now inevitable. How does someone who is living in the flesh win a nuclear war?

Basically at this point the only relevant response is what Amos said: "Prepare to meet thy God".

6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

So then, what is the holdup? Why is it that God has not yet dealt with all this corruption and evil? The Lord has delayed because of mercy. If your obedience is not fulfilled then you will be hit as well with the judgment. We are told in the New Testament that judgment begins with the house of God. How is God going to punish and rebuke the nations for lying if the saints in the church are also lying? How can He rebuke them for insults if the saints in the church are also insulting people?

We might think that the saints would never stoop to terrorism, but what was the Crusades? How often has propaganda been used to portray one nation's reason for going to war "just" and perhaps even "an opportunity to convert heathens"? So yes, during the entire two thousand years of the church age we have seen Christians, particularly at the urging of the Catholic church use weapons of warfare according to the flesh to advance their influence on earth.

There are some who are pointing out that the current war with Iran is going contrary to the Psalm 83 hidden coalition. Psalm 83 describes a hidden coalition that wants to exterminate Israel and they have a surprise attack. That is what we saw in 2023 and 2024 with Gaza and all the other groups surrounding Israel. They have lost, and now we are no longer in a hidden attack. They were acting as a proxy for Iran. Since we have now taken the fight to Iran it is pointless to have a hidden coalition. However, Iran is operating as a proxy for Russia, and so just as Psalm 83 led to Jeremiah 49, Jeremiah 49 is going to lead to Ezekiel 38. When Iran's proxies were defeated it forced the war to move to Iran and when Iran is defeated it will force Russia to join the war.
 
Four prophecies that appear to be things that will be fulfilled at the rapture.

1. The destruction of Damascus -- I have shared on Damascus in this blog being a type of the Gentile church. Jesus said that the rapture will be as the days of Noah. When Methuselah died, the longest living human, it included a prophecy that the end will come. In the New Testament we have a prophecy that this will be like the rapture. Noah and the seven (indicating the church) entered the ark seven days before the flood came and wiped them all away. In the same way the rapture takes place seven years before Armageddon wipes them all away. So then at the time of the rapture, the Gentile church will be destroyed, all those left behind will be scattered. That will be the spiritual reality, and just like the veil was rent to the Holy of Holies signifying a physical manifestation of the spiritual reality I think Damascus becoming a ruinous heap will be a physical manifestation of the left behind saints becoming a ruinous heap.

2. The Eastern gate will be opened. Reports are coming in of ground movements beneath the Eastern gate. This was sealed to prevent the Lord's return and a cemetery was placed directly in front of this gate, again to prevent His return. This is similar to the Jews crucifying Jesus and then putting a guard and a seal in front of His tomb. So just as that stone was rolled away at the Lord's resurrection I expect the Eastern gate to be opened at the time of the rapture.

3. Ezekiel 38 and 39 talks about cleaning up after this war for seven years. Seven years can refer to any period of time longer than six years and shorter than eight years. The tribulation is described as 2,520 days. So it does seem that this period of time coincides with the seven year tribulation and that it will be a nuclear blast since the destroyed weapons are used to burn as fuel for seven years. So I believe it coincides with the rapture but doesn't have to all happen on a single day. So I am not looking for Ezekiel 38 war to take place prior to the rapture. In fact I think Ezekiel 38 refers to these nations attacking the US after they have been destroyed by God's judgment, the judgement on the Great Babylon.

4. The destruction of the Great Babylon will happen in one hour and I suspect it will be like the fire falling when Elijah prayed, and it will be like the judgement in Matthew 18, a great millstone hitting the ocean that causes the destruction of the US (Tsunamis, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions being triggered by this event). This can take place at the same time as the rapture (as we go up these meteors come down).
 
1 Thessalonians 4: 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

This word about Christians being caught up together with them in the clouds is quoted from the book of Enoch where Enoch describes his experience of being caught up as an explanation of what is to come in the future.
 
The book of Enoch is not in the Bible. However, it is referenced and quoted in the New Testament. One of the places it is quoted is in 1Thessalonians 4:16-17 about the believers being caught up. The book of Enoch uses this phrase to describe Enoch being raptured and if you are familiar with the book of Enoch it makes it much easier to understand what Paul was referring to here.

I don't like to use the expression "inspired word of God" to refer to the Bible because any word of God is inspired and God is not limited to only speak what is in the Bible. Instead I refer to the Old and New Testament as a legal document, it is our covenant with God and it was signed with the blood of Jesus. There are sixty instances in the Old Testament where the letters Aleph Tav show up and are not translated. In the New Testament Jesus tells us He is the Alpha and Omega (on in Hebrew the Aleph Tav). That means those sixty occurrences were Jesus initialing different parts of the covenant the same way you might be required to put your initials on many parts of a mortage agreement. Now in a legal document of this size it can refer to an appendix which is not part of the document but explains part of it. That is how I view the book of Enoch. It is not part of our covenant, but it does explain parts of it.

Therefore, since this portion that is quoted in 1 Thessalonians is directly tied to the rapture and since it is helpful to read the book of Enoch to understand it, I am sharing this link with Dr. Johnson talking about the book of Enoch.

Three comings of the Lord

2 Corinthians 13:13 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. 2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare: 3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.

The Lord's first coming was as the lamb that takes away the sins of the people. His second coming is as the bridegroom catching up the faithful ones as His bride and divorcing the unfaithful ones, leaving them in the outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. His third coming will be to settle accounts. No longer will He spare those who refuse to repent.

When we use the term "rapture" we are referring to the second coming. When we use the term "Day of the Lord" it carries the idea of the finality of the Lord dealing with those who have refused to repent. The mockers and scoffers always want "proof" that this is God's word and not some false prophet. It is good to be discerning. However, you will discover that many use this need to be discerning as a cloak to cover their heart which does not want to know the truth. This "third coming" is at the midpoint of the seven year tribulation where the Jews repent and look on Him whom they pierced as an only son, while at the same time God pours out His wrath on the unrepentant.
 
God is a God who searches the hearts. Many were in King David's camp because He was king and had power. So the Absalom rebellion revealed those who were actually loyal to the king from those who were simply loyal to kings. The Adonijah rebellion was where David was old, near death, and so some were looking for someone young and strong. This was a blessing to Solomon, David let him see who was truly loyal to him at his coronation.
 
He makes a very interesting point, the rapture takes place when they say "peace and security" then you have sudden destruction. So there must be a war that threatens the peace and security of the entire earth. The 2023 war that started when Hamas attacked Israel did not threaten the whole world's peace and security. It may have horrified many, and many may have had their opinions, but in reality it was a local affair. But this war with Iran does threaten the whole world. If the Straight of Hormuz is shut to oil exports it doesn't simply impact those countries who import the oil. If Japan collapses they sell $1 trillion in US debt, and that threatens the US. If the US economy collapses amidst tremendous inflation, and rising interest rates on our debt, the entire world is threatened. To make things worse to save themselves Iran is blowing up Oil infrastructure in the Middle East in all the countries on the other side of the Straight. In retaliation their oil infrastructure is also being blown up. You are talking about close to 25% of the world's total oil production. If that is destroyed, even for a few months the implication would be catastrophic. Also, Russia's oil infrastructure is also being attacked in this war with Ukraine. If they cannot export oil because their ports and other infrastructure is destroyed you are talking about 33% of the world's oil.

The point is there must be a war prior to this "peace and security" agreement that threatens the whole world's peace and security. It would have to be prophesied as well. Psalm 83 talked about what happened in 2023 and 2024. Joel talked about what happened in 2020 and 2021 with the pandemic and said this event immediately precedes the tribulation.

Jeremiah 49 talks about what is happening right now with Iran and that this leads to Ezekiel 38 because Russia is dragged into the conflict like catching a fish with a hook and drawing it into the fray.
