One issue we have had is the Calendar
The problem is not with counting the years, the problem is with knowing what day of the year it is on the Hebrew calendar. The reason for this is because Paul in Colossians tells us these days are a shadow of things to come. They are prophetic.
One solution I have to this conundrum is that hindsight is 20/20. The day that Israel returned to the land is likened to them walking out of the graves, it is resurrection day.
Ezekiel 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.
This makes May 14th, 1948 resurrection day. That is a month later than what we currently view as Resurrection day. So how did this happen? The most basic and clearest explanation of when Resurrection day is based on Moses is the fact that it is the first feast of first fruits. This is the day you offer up your tithe to God of your harvest of Barley. May 14th is after the Barley harvest in Israel is completed, where we currently celebrate Resurrection day is not, rather that day would make no sense. For many Israelis at the time of Joshua it would take them ten days round trip to go to Israel, celebrate Passover and First Fruits and then return to their farm. No one is going to have a harvest festival in the middle of the harvest that takes farmers off the land for ten days. However, as soon as the harvest is over is the perfect time for a harvest festival. The same thing happens with wheat, Shavuot is at least 50 days after the first feast of Firstfruits and that celebrates the Wheat harvest. If you start at May 14th it would be right after the wheat harvest and if you start a month earlier you would be giving God a tithe from the harvest before you harvested.
This also corresponds with Daniel where it says Satan will attempt to distort the calendar
Daniel 7:25a He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws.
It is foolish to use the calendar of the Jews. We are told up front that Satan will try to change the set times and we are told very clearly that the Jewish leaders are false prophets.
2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them
and it corresponds with Genesis where God tells us the one constant will be seedtime and harvest.
Genesis 8:22 As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.
In the books of Moses we are told that the month of Passover is the month of aviv, that literally means it is "ear of grain".
Deuteronomy 16:1 Observe the month of Aviv and celebrate the Passover of the Lord your God, because in the month of Aviv he brought you out of Egypt by night.
Think of corn, once the corn is harvested you have a whole bunch of ears of corn. It doesn't mean about to be harvested, or ready to harvest, it means I have a bushel of ears of corn already harvested. Everyone knows what the month of harvested corn as ears of grain in the farmers market is. Think about this, why would Israel leave Egypt to go live in the wilderness for forty years before harvesting the barley crop?
In Exodus the three days of darkness marks the end of Israel's time in Egypt and after Moses raised his hands to indicate the three days of darkness he then said that this is now the first day of the year for you -- Nisan 1.
Exodus 12:1 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.
There are several verses in the gospels that would tie this three days of darkness to the rapture saying those who are left behind are cast into outer darkness.
Matthew 8:12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
This would explain what event marks the start of the new year.
It is the rapture of the church. This is why Moses tells Pharaoh you have spoken well when he says he will not see his face again.
Exodus 10:28 Pharaoh said to Moses, “Get out of my sight! Make sure you do not appear before me again! The day you see my face you will die.” 29 “Just as you say,” Moses replied. “I will never appear before you again.”
Prior to Nisan 1 is the season of Purim and Purim is the season of Esther, who depicts the glorious rapture. Ruth is the only other book in the Bible with a woman's name and she depicts the left behind.
Ruth 1:22 So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabite, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning.
The left behind arrive in Bethlehem, the house of God, at the time of the rapture.
Also there are two types of the church being raptured as the bride of Christ, you have Esther and you have Ruth. I would argue that Ruth depicts the tribulation saints gleaning in Boaz's field after leaving Moab while Esther depicts those raptured before the tribulation during the season of Purim which would end on Nisan 1. We know the calendar is corrupted and we know that a feast of first fruits takes place after you harvest, just like you tithe from what you are paid, not from what you hope to collect in the future.
Leviticus 27:30 “‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.
We also know the only reliable measure that will not be corrupted is seedtime and harvest. Ezekiel 37:12 clearly states that Israel is brought back to the land on resurrection day. Therefore it is Biblical to say that May 14th was resurrection day.
I get that at the time of Moses when the Barley was harvested could have also been seen in the stars with the sheaf of wheat. However, the stars are on a 30,000 year cycle so that would only have been a temporary way to measure. I also imagine the Jews initially used the moon to mark the months, but that is a different calendar from the Gentiles and the church is primarily composed of Gentiles. I see nothing in our new covenant which would tell us to mark the days by the moon. Instead we are told by Paul not to let anyone judge us with regards to a new moon.
Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.
Therefore how do we mark the years? Clearly the return of Israel to the land is a major sign that was prophesied. And now we learn there are many hidden prophecies in the word of God concerning the year when Israel turns 77 as the year of the rapture. The only day we are told to keep in the New Testament is the Lord's day and this Lord's day appears very significant.
1 Corinthians 11:23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
We are told clearly we do this "until He comes".
