Wrestling with the rulers of the darkness of this age

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Pray that you are not kept in darkness but would be a light shining in this dark age.

Natural disasters

Acts 4:24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,

There are many accounts of people praying during a disaster that then spared their home, of their family. Pray over this verse that your faith would be strengthened that God is the one who made heaven and earth and the sea and so they are all subject to Him.

All things work together for Good

Romans 11:33–36 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Very often it seems like we are about to be destroyed, the world is against us, etc. But that is OK if God is for us. Pray over this verse that you would have the faith that all things are for Jesus, they are all through Jesus and they are all to Him. We need eyes to see that all the glory is to the Lord forever. If you see this, then you will not be fearful of anything that the enemy can throw your way.

Establishing the saints and the church

Romans 16:25–27 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.

We do not want our work and ministry to go up in flames like wood, hay and stubble. So pray that you get the faith in this verse, that you would be established according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest. Pray for obedience to the faith in God.

Delivered from this evil age

Galatians 1:4–5 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Don't complain about the present evil age, rather pray that you would be delivered from the present evil age according to the will of God and Father.

Every spiritual blessing

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

Pray for a revelation of every spiritual blessing that you have been blessed with.

God would be glorified

Ephesians 3:20–21 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

God is glorified through the work that He does within you. So pray that His power would work in us and that He would be glorified in the church.

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Cor. 1:4-8

Do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power Ephesians 1:16-19

Now, Lord, … grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. – Acts 4:29-31

Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 15:5-7

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

There is a great deception in Christianity.

Whenever they talk about judgment they talk about sin. Then they argue that there is nothing you can do to wash away your sins (true), that your forgiveness is 100% due to the blood of Jesus (true) and that thinking you can do something to save yourself is works salvation and is heresy (true). That is all true. But look at the following verses

Matthew 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Jesus did not say who is the sinless servant, or who is the forgiven servant, or who is the servant who has washed away their sins in the blood of Jesus. You cannot be a servant of Jesus until you have washed away your sins. That is a prerequisite. It is not a sin to not be wise. When it comes to the rapture the Lord is not asking "who is washed in the blood?" He is asking "who is the faithful and wise servant".

Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Being caught up in the cares of this life is not a sin. Surfeiting means to drink wine until you are giddy, the modern terminology would be "until you have a buzz". The world is filled with wine. Their TV shows, movies and music. You can go to Disney world, or skiing in the alps or go to Spring break in Miami. These things are not necessarily sinful. Drinking wine was not sinful. But they are befuddling.

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

It is as though we are walking through the woods and there are snares laid by the enemy to catch us.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

So what does this have to do with being accounted worthy? They always tell us that if our sins are washed away then that is everything, ok, but were our sins washed away because we were accounted worthy or because it was a free gift of God and nothing to do with us? It had nothing to do with us, you don't need to be accounted worthy to be forgiven of sins. So then this is not talking about having your sins forgiven.

Acts 5:41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy G2661 to suffer shame for his name.

Luke used this same term in both the gospel and in Acts. Have you been counted worthy to suffer shame for the Lord's name? That is what this word means. It doesn't have anything to do with being forgiven of sins, that was a free gift given to all. This has everything to do with your testimony as a Christian.

2 Thessalonians 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

Paul also used this term, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God. It is easy to misunderstand and think that you need to work for your salvation to be counted worthy. But that is not the case. The point is you must have a testimony of the Lord, we are His witnesses, and if you do have a testimony of the Lord then you will also suffer. The fact that the world wants to make you suffer is evidence that you have a testimony of the Lord and that you have been counted worthy based on that testimony to suffer.

Let me share an example I have shared several times. If you preach the gospel you will be rejected, you will be insulted, you will be mocked and ridiculed. The world will try every angle to get you to stop. They will pretend to care for you, they will question your sanity, they will ostracize you, etc. I have shared this story before, I was baptized in my freshman year at college and became an active member of the church in evangelizing the campus for my next three years at college. In my senior year in the springtime I was eating at one of the college cafeterias on campus (depending on the day there were five different cafeterias that I ate at). This day the cafeteria was completely packed out. Each table had ten seats, at the table next to me I saw two people sharing one seat. At the wall by the widows I saw people using the window sill as a place to hold their plate as there were no other seats available. I saw people going to the elevator with plates of food to go to their rooms to eat. Meanwhile at my table which was in the center of the cafeteria the other nine seats were empty. It felt like one of those western movies where the gunslinger comes into the saloon and everyone clears out.

Babylon (the USA) the land of two rivers

Psalm 137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

Babylon is known as the land of two rivers. We use terms like Shinar and Mesopotamia to reference this. The two rivers were the Tigris and Euphrates. Interestingly, the US is also a land of two rivers: the Mississippi and the Missouri. These two rivers are two of the longest rivers in the world traversing the continent from one border to another. Yes, the Nile, the Amazon and the Yangtze are all longer rivers. However, Brazil, Egypt and China are not a land of two rivers, but the US is.

2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. 3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

Also, just like Babylon the US is the home for both Jews and Christians. The UK used to be considered a Christian nation, today 6% of the population identifies as evangelical Christians. That is probably the highest of any country outside of the US. In the US 23% of people identify as evangelical Christians. Likewise with Jews. 49% of the world's Jews live in Israel and 49% live in the US. This term "wasted us" is unique and only used once in the Bible in this Psalm. The meaning is doubtful but probably indicates that you have been plundered. Think about Hollywood, all the themes of their movies come from the Bible. Their comedy mocks the Bible. The US plundered the Jewish scientists during WW2 to build their bombs and missiles and other devices. 100 years ago approximately 70% of the US attended church regularly, every week. Today it has declined to 21%. People come to the US as a place purpotedly where you can worship God freely, but then they get plundered of their faith, wasted.

4 How shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?

The word strange means foreign, foreign gods (idols) and foreign vanities. The USA specializes in being strange. Every single foreign god is welcome in the US, any kind of vanity is promoted.

5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

There is no word for cunning. The word for forget indicates to wither, to cease to care and to be forgotten. Think about how we treat our elders in the US. They are put away into a corner somewhere and forgotten. In the rest of the world, especially in the Middle East the elders are in the center of the family and have a huge influence on the raising of the grand children and advising the young parents. The word for right hand here is the same as when Jacob knowingly guided his right hand onto Ephraim. It means the right side, the strong side.

6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

What happens to those who forget the Lord and worship dumb idols? Their tongue cleaves to the roof of their mouth, they become dumb. What happens if you prefer Disney world, or the NFL or golf to the church? You become dumb.

7 Remember, O Lord, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

Edom was Israel's twin brother. Christians have a twin, we are both story tellers, people of the book. Hollywood, the Music Industry and the Main Stream Media are also story tellers, people of the book. Open your eyes and remember, they are the ones who are saying "Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof". Why do they make fun of Jesus but not of Mohammed? It seems to me that it would be much easier to make fun of Mohammed. There is a green envy of the Bible, no one is jealous of the Koran.

8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

There are daughters of the US. We have multinational corporations that were all born here. MTV, Hollywood and the Main Stream Media were all born here. The Social Gospel movement started here, something where a Satanist like Elon Musk can refer to himself as a "cultural Christian". The prosperity gospel also started in the US.

9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

The word "dasheth" means to shatter and to break in pieces. This would seem to be an extremely dark way to end this Psalm. We get a picture of someone smashing babies against stones. But instead think of Hollywood. Their babies are their movies. The music industry, their babies are their records. There are a lot of very evil and poisonous fruit that comes from the USA. All these food companies with all their additives and GMOs, all the perverseness. This stuff will be smashed, destroyed, broken into pieces, and those that do that job will be happy.

to be spiritually minded is life and peace

Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

If you have intrusional thoughts I would ask you to examine when you left the door open for those thoughts? If you open the door, perhaps by watching a movie, you have invited the enemy to come into your mind.

We are told very clearly that the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. You can set your mind on the spirit by singing hymns and songs of praise. However, the amount of benefit you get is proportional to the amount of effort. Simply turning on the radio to a Christian station is almost 0 effort. Playing a playlist of songs that you have purchased is greater effort than that, at least you won't be hearing commercials. However, taking a song book or hymnal and singing the songs is much better effort. To do this with others in a small group meeting is even more effort.

The same goes with the word of God. You can listen to a sermon on the radio, but to go to a meeting where the word is preached is significantly more effort, and to read the word yourself is also setting the mind on the spirit, and then using tools like Blue Letter Bible and Bible commentaries to assist you as you study is even more effort.

Either you are actively pursuing the Lord to set your mind on the Spirit or else you mind will automatically be set on the flesh.

When I was a new Christian I would often get depressed and what I would do is to begin reading the Bible at Galatians. I did this all the time and every time, regardless of how bad the depression was it had passed before I got to the end of Colossians. Sometimes Galatians or Galatians and Ephesians were enough. Only in the most extreme cases did I arrive at Colossians. So somewhere between 10-20 chapters would always cure my depression.
