Lord Jesus we also pray that this assassination of Charlie Kirk would be used by You to discern the hearts so that we would know who is not called by You, who does not love you. Your word makes it clear we are not to speak evil of any man (Titus 3:2) this is especially true of men who have recently died. Lord we ask that you take account of this speaking. You told us in Your word that God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows this shall He reap and we pray that You watch over this word to perform it. Amen. Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

We have received so great a salvation. Now in Christianity they try to equate the great salvation with justification because in Ephesians we are told that the free gift of God is salvation. So it is true that this great salvation includes the gift of grace and all that Jesus did on the Cross to redeem us. But there is much more than that, and if that is all you focus on then you are neglecting so great a salvation.

4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? 5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

This great salvation includes having the world which is to come put in subjection to Jesus Christ.

6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him? 7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: 8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

Being crowned with glory and honor is also part of this great salvation. That is not part of the free gift, you get crowned if you compete lawfully and win, you did not compete nor win when you received the free gift. We are the Body of Christ, so if all things are put under the feet of Jesus Christ they are put under the feet of the Body of Christ.

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

In Christianity they emphasize that Jesus took our place on the cross, He died so that we could live. That is true. But here we are told He is leading many sons unto glory and that He is the captain of our salvation. We are a team, we follow our captain, He bore the cross and He told us that if we were to follow Him we also must take up the cross and follow Him. He entered into glory by going through death and resurrection and the same is true of us, we must follow Jesus into death and resurrection.

11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

We are one with Him in the fellowship of His sufferings, we are one with Him in dying on the cross, as a result we are one with Him in resurrection. This is how we become sanctified. To be sanctified is to be fully separated unto God both positionally and dispositionally. This is what it means to have a new heart. Jesus Christ inhabits us on the inside, He is our Lord, when He gives the command we obey. If this is true then that is why He is not ashamed to call us brethren.

12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

Everyone claims the church will be raptured. But there are different definitions of what the church is. The church is the body of Christ, those who are one with the Lord, go where ever He says and does what ever He commands. If that is your definition then yes, the church will be raptured. But many think the church includes everyone who gets dressed up on Sunday to sit in the pews. Are they fully sanctified? Are they one with the One who sanctifies?

13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?

Lord Jesus, we desire to fellowship over the common salvation and yet, it has become needful to write, and exhort that we should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. There are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. We bring these ones before you, they have sold themselves to do evil. They speak evil of men. They are disobedient to You, they desire to usurp Your authority, may You become a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to them. Your word tells us they have been appointed to this judgment. We appeal to You for Your judgment because their word eats as does a canker and corrupts all that hear.

Luke 12:3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

This is the decree of the Lord Jesus Christ and I stand on this word and appeal that this be fulfilled. Lord Jesus you said there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed and nothing hidden that will not be made known. You will bring every deed into judgement, whether it is good or evil. Lord Jesus, You even promised to expose the hidden motives of the heart. Amen. Please expose those who are filled with hate and cursing according to Your word.

Lord Jesus we pray that you would expose the hidden things of dishonesty, expose those who are walking in craftiness, expose those handling the word of God deceitfully. Expose those who corrupt the word of God. Lord Jesus, expose those that Satan has filled their heart not just to lie to men but to God.

Lord Jesus You warned through James that those who want to be talking heads will receive the greater condemnation. You specifically warned those who would set the whole world on fire with the fires of hell from their tongue. You warned of the judgment on tongues that are full of poison and cursing.

"whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and rejoicing of the hope firm to the end"!

Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

This chapter is written to "holy brethren", to "partakers of a heavenly calling". By all accounts this chapter and the warnings are written to those who have been saved and washed by the blood of Jesus.

2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. 3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

Yes, Jesus is counted worthy of more honor than the law. If you want to say that Moses represents the law, fine, but Jesus represents the one who built that house.

4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

The Jewish religion is a house, and Jesus is God who built all things including the Jewish religion.

5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; 6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

How does Calvinism explain this? He doesn't say "whose house we are if we prayed a prayer 20 years ago", no it says "whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and rejoicing of the hope firm to the end"! The term house here is not an allegory of a building, it is a reference to the family of God. People love to say "once you are born you are born, that is forever". Fair enough, but this is a great house with a great calling to rule the world. Just because you were born does not mean you will inherit, it does not mean you will grow up to take your place in this great calling.

7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

They always debate about "once saved always saved". Fine, but that does not mean you will enter into the Lord's rest. According to this pattern in the wilderness which is a warning to us, many were strewn about in the wilderness and never entered the good land. Yes, they left Egypt, but no, they never entered the good land, they never entered the Lord's rest.

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

OSAS will claim that if you depart from the living God then you were never saved. That is absurd, how can you depart from Him if you were never with Him?

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

This is what OSAS is all about, justifying a life of sin, that is the deceitfulness of sin, that is a hardened heart as a result of the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Once again, our being partakers of Christ is conditional on our being stedfast to the end.

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

This chapter is crystal clear. Everyone who came out of Egypt partook of the Passover lamb, they put the blood on the doorpost, they drank the water from the rock and they ate the manna. They all passed through the red sea and they all saw God's mighty works and deliverance first hand. Everyone of them had a testimony. By all accounts they were "saved". However, they lacked faith, why?

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. You have to be in the word of God daily.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

This is the Bible telling believers to "let us therefore fear". Do you ever hear that word from Calvinists? From the OSAS crowd? Clearly it is our job to enter into His rest and not to come short of that.

2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The recipe is quite clear, preaching mixed with faith in those that hear.

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

So then first the works are all finished, that includes the work of redemption on the cross, and then you enter into the rest.

4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

The seventh day is the day Jesus lay in the tomb resting from all His work, and it is also a picture of the millennial reign of Jesus Christ.

5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Huh? OSAS will tell you there is no ifs, ands or buts about it. But that is not what the Bible says.

6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

God said "if they shall enter into my rest" as a judgment on those that had seen His works, they had partaken of the Passover lamb, they had crossed through the red sea, they had eaten the manna and drank the water, but they were still murmuring, complaining, and refused to enter into the good land when given the chance. They claimed the giants would kill them. That is unbelief.

7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

The things that happened were examples to us. You can be redeemed and still faithless. You can be someone who goes to church each week and still filled with unbelief.

8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

This is why I cannot stand OSAS, they take one promise of being saved from hell and it apply it to everything. Clearly, Jesus did not give you rest when He redeemed you. He spoke of another day, and this day you have to enter into. You must take up your cross. You must follow Him to the Cross. Your testimony must be the same as Paul's, "I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me".

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

To abide in the crucified Christ is true rest. People who are crucified dead and buried do not get upset over inflation, or recession or over who is elected president. Social media reveals that too many Christians have not entered into the promised rest for the people of God. If you fully trust that God is in control you will not fear speaking for the Lord nor will you get bent out of shape over the events taking place on earth. The assassination of Charlie Kirk was horrific, but it revealed the ghoulish heart of many and that has helped many more to finally see for the first time.
 
How awesome to see giants fall this way

Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Every Christian should have this testimony. When I was twelve years old I was seeking something worthy to give my life to. I had just been on a national championship PeeWee football team, we had won two years straight, we had been all over the news, we had been in parades, it was an awesome experience and I wanted to find something to give my life for so that this experience would not be the high point of my life, but rather the experience that launched me. Everything I considered did not seem like a worthy goal, one by one I was like, eh, it that all? Then one day in church I heard about Jesus Christ coming back in great glory followed by a host, a conquering army, and I immediately thought "That's it! That is what I would like to give my life for!" I prayed about it and the Lord has answered that prayer. It meant dropping all the things the world had planned for me. I could have been extremely "rich", I could have made a major discovery, there were a number of things I walked away from because I was pursuing a high calling of the Lord.

11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

I hate OSAS doctrine. If you tell them this verse they will say this is "works based salvation". No, this promise is not about salvation from hell, it is about being in the Lord's army. Most Christians do not appreciate how awesome father Abraham was, the father of faith. He stood against Nimrod (a type of the Antichrist) to destroy idols. Even his family turned on him. They threw him into a furnace of fire but he was not harmed so Nimrod excommunicated him and 200 men followed him. He lived the life of the altar and the tent. They had cities, Lot his nephew was in Sodom, but he chose to live in a tent. This world was not his home, he was simply passing through. Those 200 men were like Navy Seals and Army Rangers. When 5 kings invaded and took his nephew hostage Abraham went after them and destroyed them. This guy was elite when it came to spiritual warfare. He prayed for kings to be healed, he had incredible experiences of God, and he was absolute. God tells him to sacrifice his son and he is saddling up. His wife died from fright because she knew how absolute this guy was. That is what the father of faith looked like.

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

I don't care what your job is, there is no greater sword than this to be wielding.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

I don't care how great is the intelligence you are privy to, there is no greater intelligence than this.

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

People think they have a high calling because they work for the President or some other great man who is their "high priest". This is blindness. Our high calling has the highest tools and the highest high priest, there is no higher calling.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

People get sucked into all kinds of callings only to learn that they are rotten at the core because of sin. What a shame.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

There is nothing greater than to be able to come before the throne of grace and find grace in time of need, especially if you first need mercy for your mistakes. How awesome to see giants fall this way.
 
Compare and Contrast Abraham with Lot

Abram visited Noah where he was mentored and grew in faith (book of Jubilees), he returned home and destroyed a bunch of idols. Because of that Nimrod threw him into a furnace of fire, but he wasn't killed, as a result he was exiled. 200 men followed him. He lived a life of the altar and the tent. These men were an elite fighting force. When five kings overthrew Sodom and took captives they saddled up immediately and chased them down defeating the armies of the five kings with this company of 200 men. When God told Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac he didn't argue or debate, he saddled up. His wife Sarah died of fright because she knew Abraham would sacrifice Isaac. Abraham is in Hebrews 11, the hall of fame of faith. Our faith begins with him, he was the forerunner.

In contrast Lot most likely felt Abraham was too absolute and turned people away. Instead of the life of the altar and the tent he lived in a major city, Sodom. He was in the gate of the city, so a very important person, much like a major denomination or Catholic church today is in the gate of the city. He was not a preacher of righteousness, that was Noah, but the Bible does say he was a righteous man. God did not come to visit Lot, those were two angels sent to deliver him, but the Lord did visit Abraham to let him know what was going on and it was Abraham's prayer that saved Lot. Lot and his two daughters are saved by the skin of their teeth, and then commit incest. They do this out of a lack of faith and trust in God, much as Abraham had Ishmael in an attempt to help God. There is no account of Lot's relationship with the Lord, rather his relationship was based on his uncle being a great man of God. This is similar to many in Christianity. In Christianity they do things to help God but in the end it simply turns out to be incest and sin. They don't have a relationship with God, they have a relationship with a man of faith who in turn has a relationship with God. They think they are smarter and better than the man of God by working together with the sinners in the city, but in the end the sinners have no respect for them and their ministry does not result in anyone getting saved or turning to the Lord.
