It makes perfect sense that the great sign is the cry, and the ten virgins are the years following the great sign.

This is true. But she wanted to return to Sodom. And afterwards would have wanted to go on the exodus. So her intent was to serve two gods.

Perhaps this is what the five unwise virgins are doing. Serving the god of Babylon, and the God Jesus Christ.

So the cry goes out. Then the virgins adjust their lamps. Then the unwise return to Babylon, with whom they engage in fornication.

If this is correct, then the cry going out would precede Rev. 18:4 where they are called out of Babylon onto the exodus. So the cry is the great sign, then the virgins wait, then the unwise become embroiled in Babylon as if there had not been a sign. So they simply lived life as before the sign. Then at the call of the exodus (v. 18:4), they were unprepared because they were serving two gods.

The virgins were all waiting for the bridegroom to come, when they heard the cry they all trimmed their lamps which means they cut off the charred part and lit them because they wouldn't be "going out" if they weren't already lit. Foolish doesn't mean double minded. They wanted to "borrow the oil" which gives us their modus operandi. They had been depending on others to supply the oil, perhaps the pastor, etc. Other people were paying the price to have a testimony of Jesus.

Genesis gives us four examples of those who are raptured. Abel is the dead in Christ, Enoch is those raptured before the tribulation, Noah refers to those who go through the tribulation, and Lot and his two daughters are the "gleanings" they are saved but so as through fire, they suffer loss, but they themselves are saved. Noah's family is not raptured prior to the tribulation, and Lot and his two daughters are not raptured prior to the tribulation. I think the question is whether or not you are paying the price to get the oil for yourself or whether you are depending on others to pay the price for you.

No, I never was able to discern "wise years from foolish years". Also, ten virgins is equal to 9 years. Because it is the time between the first one which is the midnight cry and the tenth one. If you were woken up with the midnight cry in 2017 and you lit your lamp saying the Lord is coming. The question is has that lamp gone out? Did you run out of oil?

I was taught the ten virgins represented the dead in Christ and the midnight cry was the rapture. The problem with that teaching is that we now have half of the dead in Christ raised from the dead but not allowed into the wedding. Others claim they represent Christians in general who are waiting for the Lord's return and "fall asleep", not meaning they are dead, but rather they are like the disciples who fell asleep and could not watch with the Lord for one hour. My response to that is, "OK, so then what is the midnight cry that we are to be listening for?". Clearly the midnight cry comes before the rapture, and so it makes no sense for it to be something like the two witnesses whose testimony comes after the rapture.

It seems to me that Jesus told us we don't know the day or hour and therefore we must watch, so then the big question is "what are we watching for?" This midnight cry is obviously the biggest thing, so what is it? I am saying it is the Revelation 12 sign. that we saw in 2017 on the Feast of Trumpets and that since then we have had 9 virgins with lit lamps, the tenth will be on September 11, 2026, and of those 5 of them were accompanied with major prophetic signs of the Lord's coming.

Israel's second nationwide lockdown took effect at 2pm on September 18, 2020, just hours before Rosh Hashanah began that evening — the first time an advanced economy had imposed a repeat national shutdown, and one that extended through Yom Kippur and Sukkot as well.

This interpretation is faithful to the context of this being a Galilean wedding with this midnight procession with Bridesmaids. In ancient Galilean wedding traditions, the ten virgins acted as the bride's personal attendants or bridesmaids who waited with oil lamps to light the nighttime procession when the groom arrived. This cultural backdrop forms the literal setting of Jesus's famous story in Matthew 25:1-13, illustrating themes of readiness and expectation

Will Third Temple Sacrifices Really Begin on THIS Fall Feast Day?​

Daniel chapter 9 leads one to reasonably conclude that the covenant being confirmed for one week includes the resumption of sacrifices and oblations by the Jews and that when the Antichrist causes that to cease in the midst of the week it is violating that previous confirmation.

A week of years is called a Shemitah and it always begins on Tishrei 1. Therefore it is reasonable to conclude that the 70th week of years also begins on Tishrei 1. The seven year period knows as "The Day of the Lord" is a Shemitah, it is reasonable that it begins on Tishrei 1, and Tishrei 1 is also the Feast of Trumpets which announces the coming of the Lord.

However a recent message by Nelson Walters is a whole new level of confirmation. When Ezra returned with the Jews from exile to rebuild the temple they restarted the sacrifices and oblations on Tishrei 1 and they had a tent, they did not wait to rebuild a temple.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

This term "for one week" is understood to be one week of years, a seven year period. This is called a Shemitah, and a Shemitah always begins on Tishrei 1. So this verse indicates that the seven year period known as "the Day of the Lord" begins on Tishrei 1. It is also inferred that sacrifice and oblation resume on that day.

Then the principle that "That which has been is that which shall be" connects Ezra 3 resuming the sacrifices and oblations on Tishrei 1 to the Jews doing the same thing.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

We saw this sign in the heavens on the Feast of Trumpets in 2017. Jupiter was in Virgo's womb for nine months and was born on Feast of Trumpets, September 23, 2017. The only type for a "man child" to be caught up to rule and reign is Josiah. He was eight when he became king. This Feast of Trumpets is 9/11/2026, and so Jupiter, depicting the manchild born in 2017 would still be eight on the Feast of Trumpets this year. Meanwhile Jupiter has made a complete circuit of the ecliptic since the "birth" and one day before the wedding (Feast of Tabernacles) enters the Crown with Jesus, the lion of the tribe of Israel.

Matthew 25:1-13 describes ten virgins who are bridesmaids to the bride, escorting the wedding party into the wedding according to Galilean wedding tradition. They wake up with the "midnight cry". The Hebrew term for "awakening blast" is Teruah. Yom Teruah is the official name for the "Feast of Trumpets" and it literally means day of awakening blasts. The midnight cry is the awakening blast.

The great sign in the heavens on the Feast of Trumpets in 2017 is the awakening blast. Beginning with that day we have had 9 Virgins with lamps lit (the sun is in Virgo) and the tenth one escorting us to the wedding will be on 9/11/2026.

Matthew 24:36 says "no one knows the day or hour" as an answer to when the rapture will be and/or when the Day of the Lord will begin, and that is considered a possible idiom for the Feast of Trumpets.

Joel 2:15 — "Blow the trumpet... solemn assembly" — applied to 2020 Joel 2:15 Israel's second national lockdown which began hours before Rosh Hashanah.

Joel describes this event as being "nigh" to the Day of the Lord, a term that is similar to being "right next door". Since the Day of the Lord is a seven year period known as the 70th week, it is reasonable to say that the event that is "right next door" or "nigh" to the Day of the Lord is a seven year period as well. If we say that from 2019 when the pandemic was released from a bioweapons lab to when Israel made their second national lockdown is the first year of this seven year period. On Feast of Trumpets you need two witnesses to confirm the sighting. This seven year period would end on the Feast of Trumpets in 2026.

In Judges 16 we see Samson pushing out the two pillars to the temple to Dagon. This was a god of grain. The key commodity that was shipped in global trade was grain. Pushing out the two pillars to this worship has many parallels to the twin towers collapsing on 9/11.

The twin towers were the "World Trade Center" a temple to global trade.

This event led to wars in the Middle east in which many Americans were sent to die, or become crippled or get PTSD because of "weapons of mass destruction" that never existed. It was also followed by the Mortgage meltdown which stole houses from Americans through deceit. They put people into mortgages they knew they would not be able to afford and five years later the bank gets the house back along with 60 months of mortgage payments. 9/11 was a harbinger of God's coming judgment on the US and it was 18 years before 2019, the year the pandemic first hit. Jesus talks about a woman that is bent over for 18 years, likens her to an ox or a donkey, a beast of burden, that had been abused and which he released. The Pandemic was the final straw for the populists who refused to be bound any longer.

In 2014 on the Feast of Trumpets we saw a news story about two calves, one born in Pa. and one born in Tx, with the number 7 on their foreheads. This reminded everyone of Pharaohs dream of seven cow that were fat and well fed and 7 cows that were gaunt and suffering a famine. The cows in Pharaoh's dream signified full grown cows. It takes 5 years for a calf to grow fully into a full grown cow. Five years later it is 2019, the year the Pandemic began. From 2019 to 2026 we have had very good years for corn, grain and cattle. For the most part these are significantly better than average years for these crops. However, because of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz estimates are already very poor for next years harvest. This points to the Feast of Trumpets in 2026 as the start of these seven years of famine.

The Writing on the Wall Sign

In Daniel, a hand writes on the wall, the king calls for Daniel to interpret, the interpretation is that you have been weighed in the balance and found wanting. That night the king is replaced, confirming the legitimacy of this sign. That which has been is that which shall be. From 2017 to 2024, over a period of a little less than six years. Three eclipses write the letters “Aleph Tav” over the US. Each of these eclipses goes from one edge of the continent to the next. An eclipse that does that, going fron one edge of a continent to the next occurs about once every hundred years. To have three of them over the US in the span of seven years is incredibly rare, perhaps the first time in human history this has happened. The fact that they spell “Aleph Tav” which in Greek is “Alpha and Omega”, the initials of the Lord Jesus, that is a sign from heaven that no person could have done. This prophecy predicts seven years of peace from 2017. This is based on that first eclipse going over seven cities named Salem, or Peace. Sure enough we had seven years of peace from 2017 to 2024 and in 2025 we went to war with Iran. Both the first and the second eclipse point to Noah’s flood. They both enter the US over the Columbia gorge, this was carved out during the “Great Missoula flood” which is Noah’s flood. The first eclipse leaves the US at the spot the Civil war began, and the second eclipse leaves the US at the spot the Civil war ended. Indicating a war in the US that lasts for over six years. There is an intersection “X marks the spot” over a place in Illinois called “Little Egypt” and specifically over a place where they have an annual festival “where the vultures gather” each year. This X is made by the third eclipse and the very next place it crosses is “Rapture, Indiana” the only town in the US named Rapture.

The confirmation of the sign

According to Daniel the sign is interpreted and on the same day in the evening the king is deposed. This sign was interpreted in the Spring of 2024 and in the Fall of 2024 Biden’s administration lost the election and was removed from power. The interpretation has been published in book form and is extremely detailed, the point is it is a prophecy that the US has been weighed in the balance and found wanting.

So then when? How do we read this sign to know “When”. The answer is Uvalde Texas. The second and third eclipses go over a town in Texas called Uvalde, Texas. This is where a shooting took place in an elementary school. That school shooting is pointing to the horrible event on the timeline of Herod killing the children that were two years old and under. That shooting was two years prior to 2024 in 2022. Think of the end of the age as a mirror image of the beginning of the age. This tells us that the Writing on the Wall sign is a two year warning. Again, X marks the spot, by the mouth of two or three witnesses let a thing be established. We have three things established in this sign: the sign of Noah, the sign of judgment on the US as the little Egypt, the place where the vultures gather, and this sign of Uvalde, a school shooting at an elementary school similar to Herod. The sign concludes in 2024 telling us we are two years away from this sign and a little less than two years later the US bombs a girls school in Iran.

One final point, May 24, 2026, exactly 2 years after the third eclipse went over Uvalde Texas was the date a US official confirmed the US and Iran had reached a theoretical agreement on Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz and disposing of its highly-enriched uranium stockpile — via Times of Israel's live coverage, corroborated by Netanyahu's own social media post thanking Trump for "the memorandum of understanding to reopen the Straits of Hormuz." Key details from that day: President Donald Trump announced a Memorandum of Understanding with Iran extending the ceasefire 60 days. The pattern is given to us by Paul “when they say peace and security then sudden destruction comes upon them”. Over the last 48 days there have been at least 12 violations of the ceasefire. The pattern is simple, they claim we now have peace, the Strait is opened, oil prices can go down and a little later the ceasefire is broken, a pattern repeated 12 times over the last 48 days. When Biden was removed from office it was a confirmation that this judgment was from God. When the girls school was bombed in Iran it was a confirmation that the prophecy was a two year warning. When the MOU was given on the two year anniversary of the final eclipse in that sign, it was a confirmation that this warning was concerning the start of the Day of the Lord. Just like Biden being deposed in the Fall after Daniel interprets the dream we can assume this judgement takes place in the fall. The feast of Trumpets in 2024 was approximately one month before the election. According to the Bible, after the restrainer is removed (the rapture) then the man of lawlessness is revealed and that revelation will include taking spoil of the US.

The writing on the wall sign concludes “you have been weighed in the balance and found wanting” and that this evening you will be overthrown. It is directed at Babylon or in this case “The Great Babylon” which is a term that only fits the USA right now.

All the evidence you mention (above) reasonably proves the 2026 event as being the beginning of the seven years of tribulation. So we ride out the next two months during which Babylon must fall, and the bad guy called the King of Assyria (KOA) must arrise.

The name KOA comes from the type of the King of Assyria trying to capture Jerusalem. So now once again the KOA, from Russia this time, will come against Jerusalem.

Joel's Sign of the Day of the Lord: The Pandemic as a Seven-Year Warning

Joel 1–3 describes the Covid-19 pandemic (and its associated vaccine rollout) as the prophetic "near kinsman" (Hebrew qārôb) to the Day of the Lord — a seven-year period that runs parallel to, and immediately precedes, the seven-year Tribulation (the 70th week). The pandemic era functions as a preview or dress rehearsal of Tribulation conditions (censorship, quarantine, vaccine mandate as justification for the mark), not the Tribulation itself, and it opened a seven-year prophetic clock beginning Feast of trumpets 2019-2020 as the first year in this seven year countdown which concludes September 11, 2026 and at sundown the seventieth week would begin.

Key Evidentiary Claims​

1. Unprecedented worldwide scope (Joel 1:2)​

• The rhetorical question "hath this been in your days" is read as pointing to the first-ever coordinated global shutdown and global vaccine response — distinguished from prior regional epidemics (1918 flu, polio) by its simultaneous worldwide character.

We are given specific day counts for the reign of the Antichrist which is 2,520 days. That equals 84 months that are 30 days each. Because of that some have assumed it is equal to the 70th week which is 7 years. I disagree. I believe the 70th week is 7 years from Feast of trumpets to Feast of Trumpets. That is the big circle and within that circle you have a smaller circle that is 2,520 days for the Antichrist. Then the ministry of the two witnesses is 1,260 days. That is exactly half of the 2,520 days of Antichrists reign so many assume that their ministry begins at the same time as the Antichrist and they are killed in the exact middle of his reign. There is no scriptural basis for that. The bible is vague, using the term "midst". Here are the two fundamental problems with these assumptions: they aren't scriptural and the math does not work out.

Instead I use Paul's word that the restrainer must be removed first before the man of sin can be revealed to indicate that the rapture takes place at the start of the 70th week and shortly after it the Antichrist is revealed. I also do not assume that the two witnesses would start their ministry on the same day the Antichrist is revealed.

We have other criteria. I believe that Jesus must return in glory prior to Israel's 85th birthday on May 14, 2033. Antichrist is defeated on the 15th of Av in 2033, the day the curse ended, 2,520 days earlier is September 16, 2026, five days after 9/11/2026. The Two witnesses are killed on 2nd Passover in 2030, then three and half days later they are raised. 1,260 days earlier is Hanukkah in 2026. The lighting of the first lamp on Hanukkah is the start of the ministry of the two witnesses.

Lighting the candle and starting the ministry on the first day of Hanukkah matches the parable of the ten virgins. Hanukkah is seen as a version of the Feast of Tabernacles, which is the wedding of the Lord. They are locked out of the wedding of the Lord that the raptured saints go to, they are in outer darkness with weeping and gnashing of teeth. The the two witnesses then lead them to celebrate Hanukkah, because now the only way to make it to the glassy sea is to come out of the tribulation as martyrs for the testimony of Jesus.

The biggest pushback on my reference to the ten virgins in Matthew 25 as "bridesmaids" has come from novice students of the Bible saying the word is "virgin" and not Bridesmaid. When we expound on a parable we must not simply understand the words literally, we must also understand the meaning to those that it is spoken to at the time, how would they have understood it?

Alfred Edersheim (The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah) gives the most detailed archaeological treatment. He explains that it was customary in the East to carry about ten such lamps in a bridal procession, with ten being the number required for the benedictions accompanying Jewish marriage ceremonies. He's careful to note a nuance often missed: in the parable, the bridegroom is pictured as coming from a distance to the bridal house, so the virgins go out to meet and escort him back to the bridal place, rather than following the more typical pattern of the groom traveling to the bride's home. So then to reiterate the only interpretation that presents this parable as being prophetic and that provides a falsification check, so that you can either reject or confirm the prophetic interpretation.

1. The Midnight cry was the Revelation 12 Sign on the Feast of Trumpets in 2017 -- a woman (Virgo) in the heavens, crowned with 12 stars, clothed with the sun, the moon at her feet giving birth to the manchild (Jupiter) that had. been in the womb for nine months ever since Hannukah.

2. The ten virgins that are "bridesmaids" lighting the way to escort the bride to the wedding in the night are the "Ten Virgos" that all are clothed with the sun and the moon is at their feet each year at Feast of Trumpets. The literal Hebrew expression for this feast is "Day of the awakening blast" which is what the midnight cry is. Beginning with 2017 we will have the tenth Virgo this Feast of Trumpets, 9/11/2026.

3. The Manchild is seen in the Old Testament type of Josiah who became king when he was eight. So even though we have 10 virgos by September 11th, it has only been 9 years by the Hebrew calendar and by the Gregorian calendar the Manchild is still 8, it was born September 23, 2017.

4. The parable specifically talks about these virgins waking up from sleep, and lighting their lamps beginning in 2017. This is true, we have had many people start Youtube channels concerning prophecy, presenting the current events from a Biblical point of view, and with dreams and visions. Some have continued for the full nine years others have "gone out" for lack of oil from the word of God. However, the term that Jesus uses is not "lit their lamps" but trimmed their lamps. That is where you cut off the old charred part of the wick. A good example is this fresh look at this parable relating it to the 2017 sign in the heavens of Virgo.

Further support that the midnight cry refers to the Feast of trumpets, the term quoted as trumpets in Leviticus 23:24 is usually translated as "shout".

For example: Numbers 23:21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

Another example Joshua 6:5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

So there are great shouts in the Bible, the parable of the ten virgins is about the "Midnight shout" on the Feast of shouting.

Some try to relate the foolish virgins to the Israelites what were rebellious in the wilderness.

If you want to relate this parable to the Old Testament, it wasn't putting God to the test and being rebellious, all ten of the virgins did hear the midnight cry and did wake up and did trim their lamps and did go out to meet the bridegroom. No, the appropriate Old Testament reference is in Joshua when they gave a great shout and the walls of Jericho came down. The word for "great shout" is the same word used in Leviticus for a day of "trumpets", could simply be "a day of great shouting". The word is generally translated as shout or cry. So then, the "midnight cry" is a specific reference to the Feast of "Trumpets" when the two witnesses report to the rulers that they have seen the new moon and the cries begin.

For example, Joshua 6:20 uses both great shout and trumpets. However, the word in Leviticus 23 for Feast of Trumpets is not the word in this verse for trumpets it is the word in this verse for "great shout".

So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

There is another point to the Parable of the ten virgins that no one has discussed except for me.

1. Trimming the wick means to cut off the old charred portion of the wick so that it is "new".

and

2. Half of these virgins, the foolish ones, have to go and buy new oil.

Both of these point to something new from the word of God, not that same old, dead, charred teaching. The best example of this being the teaching that these 10 bridesmaids represent the church.

Feast of trumpets is in reality the Feast of Shouting, the feast of the Midnight cry. It is also the Feast of New oil. It is the feast of the first fruits of new oil.

For example, saying that Revelation 12 Sign was the midnight cry and that the ten virgins represent 10 Feast of Trumpets over nine years and that this has escorted us to 9/11/2026 is New oil from this parable.

Another example is relating the Manchild to King Josiah with the timeline from 2017 to 2026. This is new oil. The people having a problem with this are those who do not base their exposition on the Bible but rather on what their preachers told them. This is the key point that everyone has missed. A lamp is used every evening. These lamps weren't something special for the wedding, they didn't have electricity, at night you need a lamp. The foolish virgins have run out of oil because it is time to buy the new oil. It was like firewood, you buy enough to get you through the year and now it is time to buy more and they have not done that.

Do not harm the land or sea (masses) or trees (nations) until we have sealed (with oil) the foreheads of the servants of our God. — Revelation 7:3

All of that said, I think the biggest reason we cannot see a rapture yet is because debts/sins are not forgiven until the Day of Atonement. It is on the Day of Atonement that the Jubilee is proclaimed. Any rapture prior to the Day of Atonement would be premature.

After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. Revelation 7:9

The fact that they are holding palm branches in their hands is the key that they come from the Feast of Tabernacles.

The parable of the ten virgins gives us a number of key references to the Feast of Trumpets.

1. Midnight cry, basically the name. Feast of shouting is a valid interpretation, and it begins in the night when you see the new moon.

2. You need to buy new oil, which begins on the Feast of Trumpets (Midnight cry) and ends on the first day of Hanukkah when the two witnesses, the two lampstands, light the first candle. On that day the door is shut for offering new oil.

3. The 144,000 are sealed with the oil and "after this" we see a great multitude that has come out of the tribulation. The 144,000 are the Lord's evangelical force during the tribulation, they are sealed with the oil and cannot be harmed, and they assist the Lord in this great harvest during the tribulation. The 144,000 would be the wise virgins who had the oil and the foolish ones are the ones who bought the oil from those who sell, the two witnesses and get saved out of the tribulation.

If you understand the 5 wise virgins represent 144,000 then the ten virgins represent 288,000.

1 Chronicles 25:7 — the only place 288 appears as an explicit count in the biblical text. It records 288 as the total number of those trained in singing to the LORD who were skillful, among the Levitical musicians appointed under King David. Popular devotional sites gloss this as representing divine orchestration and structured worship, derived from 24 priestly divisions multiplied by 12 — worth noting that's a devotional gloss, not something the text itself states; the text just gives the raw headcount.

This is my point. Prior to the rapture there are 288,000 trained in "singing to the Lord", it is 24 priestly divisions multiplied by 12 representing the Christians who are priests to God. Five are wise, they have bought new oil, they have trimmed their lamps meaning they cut off the old, charred portion of the wick which was previous bible expositions and have lit their lamps which are fueled with new oil.

The foolish virgins have lamps that are going out because the old oil simply will not fuel their lamps. They need to buy new oil.

Genesis 24:22 mentions two bracelets Eleazar gave Rebekah when seeking a bride for Isaac — the Hebrew word for "bracelet" is "tsamid," gematria value 144, and TWO of them suggests 144 × 2 = 288.

Think of these two groups as two bracelets for the Bride. This is what the ten virgins do, they present two groups. This also emphasizes the dual status. Paul said it was his job to present a chaste virgin to Christ as the bride. Paul is a believer, he is part of the body of believers and as such he is part of the bride. But in this verse he is acting as someone who is one with Eleazar as a servant to present the church to the Lord. He is both a slave of Jesus Christ and also a member of the body.

In Leviticus 19:20 the Hebrew word "charaph" ("betrothed") has a numeric value of 288, tying the number to those called to be the bride of Christ.

Betrothed is not a bride. Think of Moses coming down from the mountain with the two tablets, that is the marriage covenant which he then breaks. If you are a foolish virgin who is betrothed then the marriage covenant can be broken.

288 is also the gematria value of "ibbur," meaning "gestation." That's notable given your Manchild/Josiah gestation framework.

This is the scariest interpretation for the foolish virgins. When a baby is born, the placenta is thrown into the trash and burned. You can argue a birth has two pieces, the baby and the placenta. If you are left behind after the rapture there is a very real danger in being thrown into the trash and burned during the tribulation.

1 Chronicles 25:7 is the cleanest, black and white interpretation of the 144,000. They are in the priestly service, there are 24 orders and 144,000 = 6000 x 24. Half of those in this order are wise and half are foolish and being foolish runs the very real risk of eternal damnation.

"Faith without works is dead" — Body, Breath, and the Word

James writes that faith without works is dead (νεκρά) — the same word used elsewhere of a corpse, and of Abraham's own body before Isaac's birth (Romans 4:19; Hebrews 11:12). A body is a corpse until pneuma — breath, spirit — is in it (James 2:26; Genesis 2:7). Works stand to faith as breath stands to the body: the very thing that determines whether the same structure is called living or dead.

Scripture traces that breath back further still — to the spoken word of God. "By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host" (Psalm 33:6) pairs davar (word) and ruach (breath) as a single act. In Ezekiel 37, the dry bones are reassembled — sinew, flesh, skin all present — yet remain corpses until the prophetic word commands the breath to enter them, and they live. And in Abraham's own household, a body "as good as dead" received life only because a word — God's promise — was believed and then bore fruit as breath and flesh: Isaac, whose very name preserves the moment disbelief turned to life.

We see this in the Hebrew. Abram is transformed into Abraham by the addition of a single letter that means "breath". Meanwhile Sarai is transformed into Sarah by taking one of the letters from Yahweh's name, a letter denoting a nail, and replaced with a letter meaning breath. Abram was dead and Sarai's womb was dead. That was like being nailed to the cross. But God removes the nail and replaces it with His breath when we believe, and as a result Abram becomes Abraham and Sarai becomes Sarah and both have life and that in turn results in fruit, Isaac. The very name, Isaac, is a monument to the reversal of death to life: whoever hears this will laugh.

The progression in the plain sense of the text in Joel


Stage 1 (Joel 1:2–12) — The plague as present catastrophe. Locust plague described in escalating waves (cutting locust, swarming locust, hopping locust, destroying locust — 1:4), total agricultural collapse, grain and wine and oil all gone.
I have shared that this is a reference to the Global Pandemic from a bioweapon released from a bioweapons lab in China in the Fall of 2019 and by Feast of Trumpets in 2020 was a global pandemic with Israel having their second shutdown, the "2nd witness" confirming the Feast of Trumpets. This is the first year in a seven year period that precedes the seventieth week, known as "The Day of the Lord" in Joel and often called "the tribulation" by Christians.

Stage 2 (Joel 1:13–20) — oblations cut off, priestly lament → lockdowns/mandates 2020–2021
This is genuinely well-documented and a strong parallel. Multiple denominations shut down worship services worldwide during the early pandemic — the LDS Church globally, Orthodox synagogues in New Jersey, and individual parishes. A common complaint from religious leaders internationally was that houses of worship were treated unequally compared to secular businesses like shops and restaurants. Every US Catholic diocese curtailed public Mass in some way, with the WHO's pandemic declaration falling on March 11, 2020 — meaning the actual cessation of sacramental/liturgical offerings (the closest functional analogue to Joel's cut-off oblation) is a matter of public record, not inference. The language shifts from agricultural disaster to military invasion — "a great and mighty people," a nation with no equal, moving like war-horses, scaling walls, entering houses like thieves. This is the pivot point of the book — crisis intensifies from natural disaster to something eschatological ("the day of the LORD is great and very terrible").

Stage 4 (Joel 2:12–17) — priests weeping between porch and altar → Hamas attack, October 7, 2023
This is the strongest correlation, because the "interrupted worship" detail is the documented character of the day itself. The attack occurred on a Shabbat morning that fell on Simchat Torah, catching Israel by surprise, and the Nova festival massacre specifically took place during Shemini Atzeret near Re'im, with 344 civilians killed. The valley of decision refers to negotiations, Memorandum of Understanding, Peace negotiations, the US, the Mideast, NATO and all the nations having to decide what to do about the situation. Do you fight Iran, but the shutdown of Strait is now a global issue.

Joel 2:28–32 — The Spirit poured out ("afterward"). Sons and daughters prophesy, cosmic signs (sun to darkness, moon to blood) precede "the great and terrible day of the LORD." Peter reads this as inaugurated at Pentecost (Acts 2), which means canonically it already has one fulfillment layer, and any framework treating it as future/2026 needs to explicitly account for that double reference rather than pass over it silently.

At the same time that all of the war and conflict is taking place in Russia, Ukraine and the Mideast in the US and around the globe we see an explosion of channels with dreams and visions, we see huge worship services on college campuses filling stadiums, we see the assassination of Charlie Kirk. It used to be we had Prophecy watchers, and a few books, and teachers expounding the prophecies. Now the interest in prophecy and understanding the current events in light of the Bible has exploded.
