which one would u be and why? I'd like to be... this was hard cuz I'd love to be he-man cuz battlecat rocks but since he's a dude I'm going with. She-ra she's pretty awesome. ;)

My son said last week that the Hulk is his fave superhero... he paused and in that time I debated about telling him that the Hulk used to be more of a villain and that this hero status is a newfangled thing. Just as a I came to the conclusion to leave that be and let him figure it out later, he piped up again and said, "Well, the Hulk is my favorite made up superhero, Dad. You're my favorite Real superhero, Dad."

I rushed to give him a big hug to hide from him my tears. I didn't want him to misunderstand the nature of these tears.

The day before, I had been struggling with having had to ask someone for some help. I've never been good at that, for whatever reason or reasons. I'm less good at it if it has to do with my role as a parent.

I'd gotten a call from my daughter's teacher, needing something simple brought by the school promptly... Payroll had just been turned in, so I was locked in to work the number of hours that I had just said I would work that day. I am currently snowed under with orders. I work 45 minutes away, and simply could not take the 1.5 off to accomplish this simple feat. God placed me in a position where I had to ask for help. It was not a big deal for the stay at home dad I called on to take care of the task for me.

It was a big deal for me to ask for help. Be it real or simply perceived, as a single dad it is my perception that some people hold me to a higher standard than they would a single mom, and that others hold me to a lower standard than a single mom - in either case the outcome is that I feel the need to achieve to a higher degree. Asking for help is something that I do not have a history of doing.

Sensing my internal turmoil about the fact that I had just succumbed to having to ask for help, a co-worker made me explain what was going on. They then proceeded to put me in my my place, but stand me back on my feet. In the process of this, they explained that they felt ((ahem, this is Their perception, so don't jump My case if you disagree)) that most parents have a spouse to help, and most single parents have Someone that they get some help from - a close friend, neighbor, the kid's grandmother, another relative, or even the child's other parent who has visitation or partial custody or just plain pitches in with child rearing in some major or minor way that is more than financially contributing. My coworker proceeded to say that I do a good job accomplishing all the things that I do, that they felt that I do a better job than most two parent households, and that to accomplish anything more I would have to be some kind of superhero. They paused. They then said that in their eyes I already was some kind of superhero.

I was shaken to my core to hear this, and it took some time to internalize it.

To then hear my son saying the same thing the following day, with him knowing nothing of the exchange just 18 hours before, I had to listen. I don't believe in coincidence. I prayed while hugging my son that morning, letting the Holy Spirit know that I hear the words placed in these two mouths, that I know they were placed there for me, and that I can let up on myself a little and not be quite so hard on myself.

I have no cool costume, feature film, or comic. I am, however, already the superhero I want to be. More importantly, I consider myself a mere sidekick to My hero.
He beat death.

Yeah, isn't it amazing how the Holy Spirit works! I am moved daily towards positive change, and were it not for God's spirit, I would likely still be stumbling in Darkness.
All credit, all respect, all props to the One Most High God.

this has nothimg to do with super heroes but i thought you might like it Isaiah 41:9-11 (NIV)

[SUP]9 [/SUP]I took you from the ends of the earth,
from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I don't know what super hero I'd want to be, but I know what super power I'd want.

I wish I had the super power/ability to be able to speak, write, and understand any language ever. Can you imagine? Just being able to go absolutely anywhere and have no language barrier and talk to absolutely anyone. :)

That way you get to hear a lot of nonsense from absolutely everybody. It would drive you insane. :)

I believe that ANYONE who wears the Full Armor of God, is a superhero... (I found the shield of faith, but Im working on the rest...lol)

Firstly, Seatbelt, that's a beautiful story you shared. You definitely are a superhero. :)

Secondly, what superhero would I want to be... I don't know. I'm going to copy rachelsedge and pick a power, I'd want the power of controlling time, that way I can slow down the fun times and speed up the boring ones. :P

I know you do not like most of my posts, but it blows my mind on what some of you post, I just dont see any urgency to call the lost church out of their sins and worlidliness, but they seem to love these games over preaching the truth, and defending and contending as commanded, I have no super hero, except of Jesus Christ, who has set me free from the bondages of sin and the corruption of the world, focus on what matters!

What really matters!

Eph 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.
This verse alone truly summarizes the bleak condition of the modern church today! They would rather spend their time in total ignorance and darkness, where their understanding of any truth that than can transform their soul from the darkness to the light is lost in a myriad of false teachings, that promise them liberty while they are still a slave to sin!
Now having a darkened understanding or a wrong concept of God is a very serious matter, because if you are under the strong delusion God promised to send to those who do not love the truth, then you are being alienated (separated) from the life of God, which is your only lifeline to eternal life.
Claiming ignorance is no excuse on judgment day, as you have been given the truth by a few who love you enough to give it to you, and also brave enough to suffer the hate and false accusations coming against them as they stand in the gap for God!
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving ones, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ (who is the image of God) should not dawn on them.

The god of this world has indeed blinded the minds of the unbelieving and also those who say they believe (obey, and follow Jesus on the narrow path) but just give Him lip service while they remain blind, unable and unwilling to see through the lies, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ could shine on them, and open their eyes so they can see to turn from the darkness to the light!

Tommy, do you have any idea what I do in my life? What I have done and what I do now? Just because I'm on CC, having fun with my brothers and sisters in Christ, does not mean that I don't preach the truth or defend it outside of CC. It's not a "one or the other". It IS possible to do both. I'm sure most members here are quite capable of having fun on CC and spreading the gospel with people they know in their personal lives.
