I hope to see them all at the funeral, I did go to the daughter's first wedding...at the church.

Anyway I'm not sure why am telling you this, as none of your business really, its just going to real church doesn't seem to stop anyone from sinning. It just means when you do, it's somehow more forgiveable.

Thank you for sharing.

You are absolutely right. But after they sinned, did they repent and back to church?
That's the key.
Many so called Christians don't go to church because in their private life, they have something hidden.

I am big on local church is because many stop going to church, not very good for faith walk with God.

If one is committed to local church, he will be disciplined by church members leaders, that is how one grow. Iron sharpen iron.

Well the daughter and her paramour didn't.

I stopped going to another local church two of my church friends started going to and invited me, because one of the guys there started hitting on me and it made me very uncomfortable. He kind of wanted me to go out with him, asked my phone number, but I didn't really want to go out with him on a first date in the evening alone.

Why he didn't ask me to go to the prayer group I'm not sure. I didn't go out with him and stopped going to church. My friend said no keep coming but then I couldn't avoid him at church cos he was always trying to chat me up. Also the pastor had his eye on me and I'm not sure I liked that either. I mean not to discipline me but it was kind of weird and I got an uncomfortable feeling about it. His wife and children were there and nice but I wouldn't want to be alone with him.

Anyway, the two friends had left the other local church because of covid restrictions.

I'm thinking of going back to the first church but it just has too much memories, good times and bad even though there is a new pastor now (she's younger than me) . I think some of the older church members don't approve of her being female. A lot of them have left though, or died.

There's many churches in my town, I mean sooo many. You could go to a different church every week if you wanted.

if you don't have a committed church, visiting different ones for a while, let Holy spirit guide your footsteps. Pray, and carefully listen to God's voice.

If you find one that suits you and biblically based, stay there, serve there, committed.

Any church will have uncomfortable people, we are still on earth. Learn to deal with that. For guys hitting on you, if you don't like them, tell them on their face, make it firm.

It takes time to love a group, call it spiritual home.

When Jesus tell us not to stop gathering, Jesus want to bless us. Gathering brings blessings.

the paramour, well he was married too, and he and his wife were the worship leaders. They had one child. It turned out his wife became lesbian. Our pastor did discipline them by kicking them out of church when they didn't repent.

I only found out about it when the husband announced they were separating in church, he didn't say why, and I only got the real story from another church friend, who was close to them. I just thought they were having some problems with their marriage because being a youth pastor was stressful and he was doing too much. As well as bringing up four children.

Anyway, I still talk to the daughter as she's been my long time neighbour and used to babysit me when I was growing up. When her mum was in hospital she told me she didn't have long to live, she was sad. Her sister told me last week the news so I gave her a hug. The mum was always baking and I would give her fruit to make muffins. They were really good muffins. When my mum died she couldn't come to the funeral and baked us muffins instead.

I will miss her. She lived to be 87.

Yep, not everyone in church is true believers. Still as long as there are 2 or 3 are, is worth going.

Well if the pastor hits on you, what do you do.
I'd rather not go if its the pastor trying to hit on me. I mean I could tell him to his face, and it's not that I don't like him, or his wife. I just thought he was getting too close to me.

And this church was a KJV only church.

I guess I don't know how to deal.
I mean with lots of male attention that I don't necessarily ask for. Usually I say we friends. But then some try to get TOO friendly.

One of my friends, who is single had some problems too and said she was going to wear a ring so guys would back off and think she was married. I don't know if it worked but then it must of because she's still single.

I don't wear rings, or any jewellery for that matter. I'm not a jewellery person. I lose jewellery!

I actually do something similar. I sometimes wear a ring, especially when I'm going somewhere crowded, because I just want to be left alone and not have men approach me. It's a bit ironic, though, because later I sometimes catch myself feeling lonely. I suppose I can't have it both ways.

In America, if a man and a woman have a casual conversation in public, it is very normal, friendly.

As I was saying, if a female is ALONE with a guy, it can get too friendly. On the guy's side. It doesn't matter what continent you are in.

Usually that does not happen, unless a guy and a girl want to be alone.

In America, usually if not dating, we are in groups, in public. Not one man and one woman alone. This is kind of like a unspoken rule. If a pastor is consoling a female, he should have a 3rd person sit together. If he doesn't do that, it is not a good practice.

Well thats in America

We don't have enough people here in New Zealand.

Sorry I' not going to emigrate to your continent though.

Safety in numbers for sure.

Unfortunately assault and rape happen. That's why females learn self defense. Sometimes we have to go out alone we have no choice. If we meet a guy alone, it could be in a taxi, walking home etc what use is your advice?

Yeah that's true. If in a city not too safe, taxi etc. Can be a safty issue.

Be cautious in unsafe areas. May God give us wisdom.

Very often I go to ny city with hiking boots or sneakers, that make me feel safe, I can either run or kick 😄 🤣

I had a friend who went missing, and she called the taxi AND the police.
They both didn't show and it was too late.
She was at a party with a new boyfriend

Will never forget it. That is why I'd never go anywhere with a guy without an escape plan

Wow, yeah definitely be cautious.

In my circles, I know my neighbors very well, and we always go to public places.

If don't know the guy, only meet in public place, such as restaurant, library,..., never ever get into a car with a guy don't know history.

Must know the history, current status very well, if want to get in s
A car together.
