Just as catholicism, my people created what was first called the Mishna, then the talmud which is a commentary of mishna. Did the same and took YHVH's Holy word and defiled it. Breaking all the commandments of YHVH and adding the rediculous commandments of men.

talmud (oral law of moses, traditions of man) is what Jesus was confronting as the pharasees held(hold) the talmud as above Gods written word, hence Jesus set them straight referring to "it is written" opposed to "you have heard it said"
no different today, Gods Word will not contradict Himself down the track with a man derived understanding yet many absorb latter teachings that seem more than at odds to what is written to what is said that we should be doing.
