Will you really cast stones about the law when you yourself have not kept the law?

As I said..Jesus fulfilled the law and now we live in the New Covenant but you can live under the Old Covenant you want. There are 613 laws for you to keep up with..best of luck with that...

As far as glorifying God with your body. Utah has a tattoo that says Jesus is Lord, and King..and Savior too ( I think ) This would be glorifying God.

I don't have any tattoos and I don't plan on getting any but I am against legalists that put bondages and condemnation on other believers....just because they believe something different from OC law keeping.

This scripture comes in handy in situations like this..

Romans 14:22 (NASB)
[SUP]22 [/SUP] The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

If you don't like them...don't put them on but in the same token don't put legalistic personal choices unto other believers either.

Make up? I think you added to" the word there didnt you? You have misinterpretted scripture because you have not truly studied the context. God will hold you accountable for putting yourself in a position to be a teacher when it is evident that you clearly are NOT!

Matthew Henrys commentary on 1Peter 3:3:

One question though, so many people are saying tattoos are wrong and sinful and as I said before I disagree with you.

Well, what about the men who served in the military and received a tattoo during their service? I mean c'mon when we are go to heaven won't we get new bodies anyhow? What we have on our current bodies won't matter
 
I dress simply and modestly ... I don't wear any jewelry except a leather bracelet that says JESUS on it and I don't wear make-up ...but I DO have a very blatant cross tattooed on me to proclaim "THIS BODY (and everything in it) BELONGS TO GOD"

Im not against tattoos per se but I just think they should fall under the appropriate context for a christians life. They should be modest and they should not possibly cause another to stumble.
Paul said we have liberties (to an extent of course) and I stand by the word. We want people to see our hearts and that is what matters. Anything that distracts from that should be modified because we are no longer in the world but aliens to it. Im sure your cross has given you many an opportunity to witness to the lost. That is a wonderful thing! Your cross glorifies our KING!
I wouldnt tell anyone not to get a tattoo because it is not a salvation issue. I hope I worded this right. Its almost my bedtime:)

Titus 3:9 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.


Romans 7:6 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.

Ok...this was definitely my last post about the law...lol

So are you saying that what Paul said is more valid than what Jesus said?
 
I dont think they are against the Bible. They are just very stupid.
 
Thank you those who defended me and didn't judge me so harshly. If you don't agree with tattoos that's 100% fine. I'm still your sister in Christ and should be treated as such.
 
I appreciate all the opinions given on here. I will look at both sides of this and take each thing said into consideration. I will also talk to God about this.

You are fine my sister...you are the Lord's absolute favorite and He loves the way you love Him and He loves to just be with you. The Holy Spirit inside you will lead you in all things and He doesn't use condemnation, guilt or shame ..and our Lord does not sub-contract those out to the enemy. Don't let the legalists disturb you. All is well!....:)
 
God bless you Grace!! Thank you!!! :) I love the lord with all of my heart I would never do anything to upset him. I always want to do 100% right by the lord. If my tattoos are in fact sinful of course I will repent. I would do anything for God, he is my savior. I try my best to be a good Christian and serve the lord justly.
