It is. However that's a short video and it speaks to what taxes are,yes in America, but in such a way as to be relatable to others who pay taxes in their own country.

I don't watch Survivor.
I have a friend who is a professional chef,not a cook, on a cruiseliner.

They watched the trailer for the first season after I joked they might see the new age Gilligan's Island cast during their travels.
They rang me up,laughing. He said,he'd gain weight on that island and win the whole thing.

He was in special forces before retiring.
The things he would do to survive,eat, was not for the faint of heart. Lordy.
 
REAL Islanders don't watch the show they have better things to do lol

I mean who gets enough time off from their real jobs to actually go on a reality tv show? Do you just say to your boss - see ya, I've got to go on a survivor reality tv show for I don't know how long, until I get voted off the island. Then I can come back to work after that.

Seriously.

There's another reality show. Naked and Afraid.

Basically it's Survivor,naked. The trailers for each show are bad enough.

Imagine that one and your boss.

So,just for fun I applied to be on a reality show. And I got picked. Now I'm going to an island for however long,hoping I can survive there. Boss,that's the bad news.

The good news is, I get to pack light.

Different countries have different tax brackets and ways of calculating tax. What do you think is fair?

Do you agree with what your country spends it on?

Do you donate to charities and claim tax rebates as a result? As its gift and not a source of income for charity...but some charities rely on donations or regular contributions for cash-flow or income. What do you think of this?

About 250 years ago, we fought a war over taxation and independence.

Now we are the nation that we fought against.

Is there ever a point when enough taxes is enough?
I do as much as I legally can to keep the money I worked for in MY pocket because that's where it belongs... In my pocket. 😁

But.. Taxation will always be theft! 😀

I would tell Paul that the real reason we pay taxes is because if we don't, the authorities will seize our assets and/or garnish our wages. 🙃

Also, I heard of things like Storage Wars in the US and Hoarders. Supposed 'reality tv' . Not sure if this is staged or faked. But real people surely don't have that much STUFF ?

Don't they have to pay taxes on it all?

We spend our lives putting money in his wallet or something.....

Who wants to work for the Man?

Shouldn't we all be working for the Woman?

Many of us do or have worked for women. And some women own companies.

I've worked for several women

Mostly in the public service, but actually when you are public servant you work for the public, so that includes everyone, elderly, children etc. Not just 'the man'.

In private, mostly worked for the man, but some women led or owned companies. Sometimes they would be generous and give you a bonus at Christmas othertimes the would be stingy and expect you to pay for your own staff dinners.

There is a heirarchy though in many workplaces, and it has traditionally been men calling the shots

Women get frustrated when they hit the glass ceiling, but over recent decades have mostly managed to break through. Depends what kind of industry as well. Still a lot of misogyny out there and exclusive 'old boys' clubs.

Note the tax collector in the gospels was a man, and the poor widow with the mite was a woman. Widows were often left destitute when their husbands died.
