Ok then. I mean I'm personally okay with it. Im not going to force people to live by laws they dont believe in. If this was a theocracy then that would I guess be the thing to do, but it isn't. Im all for letting people make their own decisions in life and just because they may go against Christianity, well that isn't my problem its theirs.

I think you may put too much stock in your power to control society. You're only one person. But any demographic should have a voice in the democratic process. It's not like just because you cast your vote to save a child's life you're suddenly a dictator. If enough people cast votes to keep women from killing their unborns, then that just shows that the majority of a nation feels a certain way about an issue in society and the democratic process has worked to solve their concerns.

The problem is most recent polls at least on gay marriage are showing a slight majority in favor of it, yet you still have politicians fighting it. At what point are they forcing their beliefs and not following the will of the people? So I just stay on the side that more closely aligns with my ideals in the first place.

I'm not against the minority fighting for what they believe in or for the majority doing the same. But I would assume that a large chunk of those polled are of the same frame of mind as you: let it slide even if it doesn't conform with how I envision a society should be.

Even if there is a majority "in favor of" gay marriage I can assure you the majority of Americans are not gay. So that kind of proves my previous point. I think, in terms of America, the politicians should accurately represent their constituents. If they're doing that, then they're doing their job - regardless of what world view they "force" on the minority that remains. If, on the other hand, you have a minority forcing their views of gay marriage on the majority, then there's a problem. As it is right now I would guess the following:

1. A great deal of Americans are openly against gay marriage.
2. Quite a few are laissez-faire on it, in spite of their world view and morals to the contrary.
3. The remaining minority are for it - probably those who are homosexual and those secularists who know friends or family who are.
4. And yet for some reason states are beginning to endorse it.

If I am right, then there is something wrong with the way the democratic process has worked regarding this issue. And the problem could just be with the people, themselves.

That's all well and good but the federal govt high jacking what should be an issue for each state to handle is unconstitutional. Powers not specifically enumerated to the federal govt by the constitution are issues to be decided by each individual state. Instead, the Feds use extortion through the divvying out of funds to force a blanket solution for every issue...and usually to the detriment of liberty. Now thru kangaroo courts they are seizing huge swaths of land. We are literally one crisis away from throwing out the constitution and bill of rights completely.

YOu would probably be surprised about the shift in the last ten years as far as acceptance of gay marriage in america. Outside of the older generations(45+) the majority are accepting of it.

Polls should NEVER determine right from wrong. If every person in America was for homosexual marriage, it wouldn't one iota change the fact that God says it is sin.

When you say homosexuality is a sin and are persecuted for that, how many people are going to make a stand? In this era of NSA....

are ya gonna as a republican say homosexuality is a sin in a poll?

I doubt it. Most seculars, and remember the gate is narrow and truly saved people are few and far between, will not step up and say homosexuality is a sin if it means they lose their business.

Hitler could not do it better.

What have we become?

I'm not a Republican......or a Democrat..........however, If ANYONE asked me if the homosexual lifestyle is a sin.......I would without hesitation answer....."Yes." To answer any other way would be to deny the Word of God and to lie.

Well.........Scriptures says things are gonna get worse the nearer we get to the End..........and I wouldn't advise anyone to brag about the declining Spiritual and Moral standards of the American people.......

??? like when Obama said even though the "people" are against my Healthcare Plan........I know what's best for them so we are going to do it anyway...........they will thank us later........

Isn't it odd that when gay rights was wayyyyyy down in the Polls...........supporters said they were fighting for Minority Rights.........and now that it appears that they have gained support.........

OH MY GOODNESS, WHY DON'T POLITICIANS DO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE?

(seriously?)

While I wont disagree that its a sin, one has to remember we ARENT a theocracy.

I found a poll that says Baptists hate donuts.

Maybe we should be?

si/ Show Spelled [thee-ok-ruh-see] Show IPA noun, plural the·oc·ra·cies. 1. a form of government in which God or a deity is recognized as the supreme civil ruler, the God's or deity's laws being interpreted by the ecclesiastical authorities.

2. a system of government by priests claiming a divine commission.

3. a commonwealth or state under such a form or system of government.

Isn't God the One True God? Isn't His Word the ONLY TRUTH?

(now, we can throw out that #2..........I wouldn't go for it at all)

But a government based on the Word of God......the Gospel of Jesus Christ would be wonderful in my opinion.......but, then, that may just be me..........

A theocracy, unless run by God in person, would be a mess.

The biblical truths are truths for all mankind and would be a great foundation for law but the fact is you cannot legislate every moral circumstance. That would be tyranny.

Freedom is the acceptance of more personal responsibility.

To have a truly free society would mean to end all welfare and let people's actions determine their fates.

Doubt that will happen since Pandora's box has been opened.
