What am I supposed to believe?
I've never even read the bible.
Is that bad?

What makes a true Christian?
Going to church every week?
I go once every other month.

There's only two reasons that keep my faith in God
Number one is that I can't imagine there not being a purpose to our lives
Number two stays silent in my heart
And maybe He doesn't exist
I read a church sign today that said,
"Doubt God's existence? He gave you the brain cells you think with"
So it's natural to have doubts

But if He's not real
Then what's the point of it all?
Why am I even here?
If I don't believe,
then I have no purpose
But if I DO believe..

Well let's just say,
I'm losing either way.

I had a dream last night
and...
I'm literally crying right now
And today I felt the anxiety
As if that dream were real

there will come a time,
THERE WILL COME A TIME,
there will come a time,
you'll see.

All my thoughts are blurring together
It's late
I should get some sleep.

Amen.

which never seem to make sense

You're not alone. I'm trying to fit the puzzle pieces together (probably not putting in the effort that I should invest for it) to see if it's all worth it or not. I refuse to go to church to find an answer, though. Have you read the Old Testament and/or New Testament? Well, considering that you said you haven't read the bible then I guess not.

biblegateway.com <- That would be a good start. Go with the KJV and use a modern translation as backup if needed. I would say start with the NT before the OT, but what works for one may not for the other and if you want to go in the order of OT and NT then do so. It didn't work so well for me when starting and focusing on the OT, personally. Try browsing around the internet to help you get better understandings as well, though I can't say that all resources provided will be much of help. Go for the ones who are informal rather than bias and bashing.

Well, that's all I've got.

Keeping an open mind is good, because God is real and there is a purpose for everything that's going on. :)
