MATTHEW; 12; 43-45; When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man,(This refers to a person who have submitted their life to Jesus and have acknowledged him as their Lord and savior.The unclean spirit is gone,and now that person has a clean heart, The burdens of all his sins are gone.) Next step; he walketh through dry places, seeking rest,and findeth none.( why he find no rest?, because every other person is already occupied with other unclean spirits) 44; Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty,swept, and garnished. ( There is no one that have occupied the house,and it is left empty. This means that there must be a resident who have moved in to keep the unclean spirit from moving back in. The spirit is a clean spirit that must now occupy the house,which is the Holy Spirit.) 45; Then goeth he and taketh with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, ( These are other unclean spirits that have been tossed out and have no place to go, just wandering to and fro searching.) ,and they enter in and dwell there, and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. ( If your heart has been cleansed,, and have not been filled with the Holy Ghost, then chances are that the unclean spirit have moved back in with seven others. Making your life worse than it was before. Until you recieve the holy spirit, the unclean spirits will remain. That is why some Christians cannot control their sins.
 
The glory of God has to be constantly filling that house.
 
Submitting your to Jesus , and acknowledging Him as your Lord and savior sounds nice, but believing that Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again in three days is what gets you saved-at which point Jesus baptizes you with the Holy Spirit. As to being filled with the Holy Spirit, read Ephesians 5:17-22.
 
As long as you are spirit filled, you belong to him. Plain and simple. Read the scriptures again that I posted.
 
Yes you can, you cannot be a true believer without the holy spirit, as they were all called before they were labeled Christians. So you call us Christians? so then we are not only true believers, but Christians also. We'll take the name.
