What is something you believed in and later found out wasn't true?
Or what is something that has been said and you know it isn't true?

When I was a kid, my uncle took us to see Godzilla (1998). I was a bit freaked out with the movie so I asked him if it was possible for that to happen. My uncle was my age back then 28 lol. So he must've been trolling me when he said "yes." I was so scared for a couple of years until I found out it couldn't happen...right? :p

Yeah, when I was wee little my sister and I spent the night at my grandfather's house. I didn't know him well and was afraid of him. He stunk and yelled a lot. My sister told me that the chest in the room where we slept had his son's bones in it from when he died and that sometimes they'd rattle on their own. So - sweet dreams punk boy.

A few years later I looked in the infamous chest and it had a human torso and teeth in it, but clearly not my uncle. Just kidding. It had blankets in it. That stunk.

As a child growing up, I was told not to swallow my gum because it would take 7 years to digest in my stomach - turns out it was a lie.

when I was young and innocent (a while ago)
I asked a school mate why did people refer to the
'old man in the Moon' phrase
he told me with a straight face that it was because
when the astronauts landed on the Moon they had
to leave one of there own behind and that he was still there
looking down on us.

and I believed him
how gullible is that?

When I was very small I thought my middle name was Dog. It's actually Dawn.

You hope.... lol

Didn't you watch the video.
It clags you up and blocks the piping.

Also my Mum always told us that if we didn't wash behind
our ears then we would grow potatoes out of our ears.
Gee we got conned easy.

Hmm... reminds me of an old xkcd comic, one about oscillating fans.
"BEST THING ABOUT HAVING MY OWN APARTMENT: Holding fans in place so they twitch helplessly and make that clicking sound without my mom yelling at me."

"It does NOT break the fan, bouncing a rubber ball against the wall does NOT leave dents in it, and the roof can hold my weight just fine. YOU LIED TO ME!"

When the movie Jaws came out I saw it with my grandfather (rest his soul)... and I was so terrified that there really were big sharks out there in the ocean that attack people.... Now that I'm older I know that sharks aren't really that big and that they only eat plants. :)

When they began teaching us evolution in school and told us we came from monkeys, I just couldn't believe it. It seemed ridiculous even to my young immature mind. And when they took us to the science museum to view the caveman displays in their “natural habitat” and called it our “history”, I remembering wondering how anyone could be so foolish to believe such crap.

I heard on tv once that astronauts have to hold their breath for 10 minutes straight. I really wanted to be one, so I would practice often. I never made it to one full minute! So I had to let that dream go. :p
