God is not a genie in a bottle.

We are not to expect Him to conform to our wishes and desires but to learn and pray so that we might know HIs will in the world.

Miracles go against what God has already set and established in the world and are done for more then our amusement. They are done to get peoples attention so that you can preach the Gospel which brings people to God. they are often a sign or fulfillment of prophecy. they are not games or to be taken lightly.

Even Jesus didn't heal everyone who ask Him to, instead He did the will of His Father in Heaven:

Luke 4
” [SUP]23 [/SUP]He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum,[SUP][l][/SUP] do also here in Your country.’” [SUP]24 [/SUP]Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. [SUP]25 [/SUP]But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; [SUP]26 [/SUP]but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath,[SUP][m][/SUP] in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. [SUP]27 [/SUP]And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”

in addition Satan tempted Jesus to turn stone into bread to "prove" He was someone special. Do you remember what Jesus told Satan?

We have no authority unless we are under His authority. Belief is foundation, it will get you started, but we need not faith in God, for ours fails, we need the Faith of God, which is a gift from Him. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ - not the written word, but the word God speaks to you personally as He talks in your love language.
