I don't know whether you've heard Beyonce's song or not, but it made me think about something...

God protects us from more things than we'll know until we're with Him, but there are some things in our lives that we do know He's spared us. How has God protected you during your walk with Him, and most likely even before that? And I'm not just talking about relationships that would have dragged you down, though I know He's done THAT for me. It could be anything. Please share. I think it could be very encouraging to a lot of people.

Well my example was actually about relationships haha, but not just romantically, more from friends. He protected me from my birth place actually, because I was too focused in living my life that I didn't pay attention to God.
He protected me from ....me, and the way I was living my life back in Mexico.
I truly believe he brought me here to make a fresh and new start, and I just realized this like 2 months ago. When I think of it, I feel sooooooooo thankfull! :) I can't believe He loves me so much that He made me start a new life, from zero , just so I can be closer to him. He made it so easy for me, because He removed all my distractions without even asking me, lol. Thank you God!
 
God protected me from my dream job. I wanted that job very badly and cried when I didn't get it. On my bathroom floor for weeks because it was where I wanted my career to turn, it had the connections, bla bla bla.

The company folded six months after I was turned down. They had a big investigation from the IRS and owed over a million dollars in unpaid taxes. The employees that were left in the wake lost wages, pensions and expense accounts.

Thank You Jesus, for not letting me get it.

This is a good one :).. I think God protected me when i was a baby.Could have died and my mum was crying almost everyday when i was a baby, praying that i should not die. Anyways, that's a story she tells me very often, but i'm not really aware of..lol.(It's a long boring story that you don't want to hear..lol)

Once when i was an unbeliever, i was in a bus and it was driving at full speed and one of the Tyres removed i think. Anything could have happened to the bus (could have turned over and all that and could've caused an accident). But nothing did and I thank God for that.. I look back at that day and realized God saved me..

Well there are many more incidents. But all I can say is thank God.. And he is always good :~)
 
I almost suffocated at birth.
When I was little, I watched a tornado form right over my house. The same tornado tore the 5 story mall in half and killed thousands of people.
I was almost kidnapped as a kid by a bunch of hooligans that broke into the company yard and came running after me.
When I was 5, I got two layers of stitches in my skull by taking off my seatbelt.
I've been in two car accidents when I was driving - could have died in both if circumstances had been a tad different. Only broke a thumb.
I made a bad friend who could have raped me but didn't - I am still in wonder about that one.
It seems as if 18 wheelers are out to get me. I've almost wrecked with them two dozen times, by no fault of mine.
I got in the midst of two teenage boys about to fight and didn't get hit.
As a teenager, I only got hit on by creeps. I was bitter about it for years. Now I'm glad. I wish I didn't get hit on so much nowadays.
 
Before my mom got saved she was an alcoholic and an addict most of my growing up years. I didnt know who my dad was so We moved around a lot living with her friends or whatever boyfriend at the time that was supporting her addiction. Life wasn't so good, I didnt know where i was or who i was with half the time. While bad stuff happened. Im still here. I didn't die.
God protected me and my mom during all of that, with everything that was going on neither one of us should have made it out of all that. He saved my life.
 
When I read the thread title my first thought was.... se......
I did read on though. This thread is about something different than I thought I guess.

I don't think I'm going to list any specifics but I will say this:
I'm just thankful that God knows and allows me to have what I need, even if I don't always get what I want. He knows best.

Rissa, yours reminded me of a couple of times I know God protected me:

1. My mom was in a bad car accident when I was a toddler and she suffered a head injury that required her to take phenobarbitol for a time. I got into her purse and they have no idea how many of them I took. I was unconscious by the time they got me to a doctor who worked with me for hours. He said that I would live, but would likely have severe mental impairment. By the grace of God, I recovered completely.

2. My best friend and I had just gotten our driver licenses at 16 and we were out driving her car in the country trying to find a friend's house. We turned off of the main road onto the road we thought it was, and as we turned we passed about 5-6 adult males who looked pretty rough. We drove for about half a mile and something was nagging at both of us at once to get out of there fast. My friend floored the car and we started looking for a place to turn around as we soon found it was a dead end road. She quickly turned around and we FLEW out of there...and passed all of those men who apparently already KNEW it was a dead end and were on their way back there. Who knows what might have happened to us if it hadn't been for the Lord's warning.
 
I think the biggest thing I was protected from was that I was scheduled to work at the AT&T corporate venue during the Atlanta Olympics. I got a call at 5 AM just as I was headed down there telling me they had enough crew and to stay home. That night I heard about the pipe bomb that went off there. I probably wouldn't have been hurt, but still...

You know, I actually have a very good story about something I would never have ever again. I was so fed up with dating the wrong man, I asked the Lord to take it into his hands. To be my own dating filter.... And he did. He forced my last ex out of my life (needless to say, good riddance to the poop head). Then, when I was ready to get back into the dating scene, he literally stepped in and made it absolutely obvious for me to see that they were not the right ones for me. I didn't realize at first He was doing it until I got a text message from one of the guys I was interested in saying "Sorry, you're just not close enough for me, I don't want to be friends with you either, because it'll just be too painful of a reminder what could've been."

I thank God that he saved me from that. I think He was tired of seeing me (along with my mom as well!) be so miserable. A parent loves his child, and He definitely loves me a lot, and so He decided enough was enough!

On a side note. Be careful what you pray for... more so on the side of be careful of HOW you pray for things. The Lord WILL take things into His hands and do EXACTLY what you pray for.

I forget that he has a sense of humor, and is yet very serious about how to answer our prayers in times of need.

With me being a stupid teenager, I could've died in several drunken adventures of my youth. I never noticed how much God's grace was with me within those days. I'm glad I'm alive today. :p
