you are correct but if you read Romans 1 and 1cor 10-11 those gentile churches were in an aera where temples were built to sexual gods. They have public orgies and prosecution. This was the culture. made SF look like a haven for children . What does repent mean ?
Are you not a Christian?

There are terms of admission:
-You must hear His word,
believe in Him,
-repent of your sins (being sorrowful for your sins),
-confess that God has raised Him from the dead, and
-be baptized.

Stop the way you are going and return to GOD. do a 180 *. Separate yourself unto the lord. Yet God can and does change the heart amen. YET the heart of man no one can know the bible says. Solomon had his heart taken why? Because he did not guard it.
Scripture please, that no one knows the Bible? I’ve never heard of this!

Solomon made many errors/ mistakes. He wasn’t sinless.

Prov 4:23 "Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life."
Yes

Once Jesus has set one free we must use that freedom to draw close to GOD as now we have been made to come near to him.
The only way we can draw close to God is to know His word, and obey.

The word Repent is a changed from the Greek metanoeō found in Matthew 3:2
it is also Turn toward God — Seek His guidance, rely on His grace, and let the Holy Spirit transform your life

Change of direction: You stop going the way of sin and start going the way of God’s truth and grace Acts 3:19

It’s a commandment:

“I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It seems that dictionary is interjecting an expanded meaning not found in the term.

Dictionary? Or you mean Biblical commentary? Hebrew, Greek Strong's or Vines ? which dictionary are you using ?

Repent , Turn back to God , return to the Lord your God are all seen in the Biblical account and as an application of many text in both the Old and New Testament we can see it is a changed mind, changed direction, return back to , which is also known as a 180.

I don't really understand why it's called 'Pride' I suppose it's because, they (those who identify as LBQTA) don't want to feel ashamed of who they are or what they do.
The other thing they say is 'love is love' .

I was reading a book about the Topp Twins, two lesbian singing twin sisters comedy country music stars from NZ. One of the twins, Jools, (Julia) died recently of cancer. Actually both of them had breast cancer, one is still living with it.

Their parents were traditional kiwi farmers who didn't want their children to be tied to the farm. They have an older brother who is also gay. Their parents accepted their children and didn't punish them for being gay or lesbian. So they don't see it as anything wrong, and said they were shocked when they encountered discrimination and hatred for their being lesbians. One of them got married, to another lady who'd already been married before and had two sons from her previous relationship (not sure if she was widowed or the husband left/divorced)

They cross dressed as well as wore female clothes and they sent themselves up as comedy stars (Camp Leader and Camp Mother, Ken and Ken), got to meet the King, had a documentary that was award winning, got to see the world outside the family farm, actually had a pretty good life. They even recorded childrens songs and made a picture book (I had it in my school library)

In their early years at age 7 both were sent to Sunday school, it was a Presbyterian church. They both got bored of it and didn't believe it. They hated going, they had to dress up and it interfered with their weekend outdoor activities. They learned prayers, coloured in pictures of Jesus and had exams. They liked the singing part. They wrote that 'the one thing we kept up with from out stint in Sunday School was singing the hymns we learnt'

That was the start of their singing career. Their aunt and uncle came to visit, heard them sing, and asked them if they'd like to sing at their cousins 21st.

So...what would you tell Lynda, who is now, aged 68 and living with breast cancer and her partner Donna?

I agree with you to a point. I don't think you really understand your statement.

"they don't always immediately stop being like that."

When we say that, there is a serious implication we are making.

1. The Saving power of Jesus is not absolute.

Here is the question I have for you, why does one not immediately stop after Jesus set them free?

I will tell you The House has been clean but not filled . Matthew 12:43-45

Here is the reason why it seems salvation and freedom is not secured. Jesus gave the understanding in the Parable of the Sower. Matthew 13.

1. the church is not disciplining them
2. The person has not been separated from those who are still bound by what the new Christian was.
3. The LGBTQ hit squads will pursue the person if they are not removed from the location they were in.
The LBGTQ is a cult now if you did not know.

4. Free will, one can choose to return. Which is also a what happens when the other issues prior listed happens.

Jesus sets one free is free indeed. But we must separate from the world. And be discipled . There are sexual addictions , pornography', and abuse that has happen to many in this addiction to Homosexuality . Some in the church have pacified those in this sexual addiction because they themselves struggle with secretly. How many ministers and pastors have we seen " Come out of the Closet" after being caught in a homosexual relationship? After they so strongly preached against it. The list is quite long.

There are good ministries that have helped ,any who were in sexual idolatry. Who were homosexual , bi, trans come out and live and great life before the lord. Yet it will never happen unless one separates from the environment they were in . The Lord God has called us to Be HOLY as HE is Holy(separate) .

We as Christian will never fit in with the world, we were called no to be separate. Yet many churches want just that.

They need a strong Christian program. Not from gay doctors , and other people who support and are bound by this sin.

I live in CA, we have 35 % of the nations homeless in my state. the majority on the street are drug addicts and mentally ill. after CA wasted 12bill to fix the homeless, it got worse not better.

They gave drugs , needles , hotel vouchers, and up to 33K a year to live on the streets. The Cities and State put them in hotels and had maids acting like social workers. With help like that why would any one ever be free from addiction or helped with a cognitive issue?

They won't. Same with Sexual sin.

Every believer still has a sin nature. It has been forgiven when they believed, but the can still fall into old ways. They would usually not go into serious sin, like going back to being lgbt, because the Holy Spirit spurs them on to be faithful but it isn't guaranteed they won't.

Yes, at salvation their heart and mind is changed by the grace of God. But they still have a sin nature.

I don't pretend to speak ancient Hebrew or Greek.
I just don't see any of the terms for "God" or "sins" in the various forms of metanoeo.
"Change or change of mind/decision" YES, but not "Turn toward God or turn from sins."

you are right. However, one must separate from the environment that caused them to remain in bondage. The Parodical Jesus said came to his senses and Left the pig trough. He returned to His father and while he was yet a great way off His father ran out to meet him. If one leave their sin God runs to them as we run to him.

Yes, but perhaps these assertions need some clarification:

We must repent of ignoring GW and seek His condition for admission (Matt. 4:17, 7:7):
We must learn GW regarding His condition for admission, whether via general or special revelation.
We must choose to believe and cooperate with God's cfa as revealed, which per the NT is to accept Jesus as Christ & Lord incarnate (Matt. 16:16, Acts 16:31).

These inward cfas begin as saving faith/an act of MFW, which will be followed by outward right behavior, (Eph. 2:8-10) such as confession, water baptism, love, self-control, helping others, patience, etc., although moral perfection will not be attained
this side of heaven.

I heard a lot of different preachers use the term when I was a baby Christian. It occured to me that the they could not all be correct when they defined it differently. I finally got a he rew/Greek dictionary and exhaustive concordance. I decided to go into a word study with an open mind and prayer, ready to reject anything else that did not agree. That meant changing my mind (metanoeo) repenting of teaching that various preachers taught me over the first years.

Since one's eternal destiny hinges on their object of faith, I thought that would be a worthy personal challenge.

Humans have a God-like nature/image that enables them to have God-consciousness and moral conscience or MFW, which is the ability to cooperate with GW or not/sin, and everyone sins even after they repent and seek salvation, because moral perfection will not be achieved this side of heaven per Phil. 3:12.

Huh?! Obviously repentance means turning away from sin and toward God when speaking of salvation!
What other options do you have in mind/did you discover in your search/study?

Who is the first person to repent?

Genesis 6: 6
And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Do we see God "turn from His sins?"
Do we see God "turning to God?"
If we take the hundreds of times we've heard preachers use their definition for this word as gospel truth, we would have to commit blasphemy and teach confusion wouldn't we?
That's why I encourage Christians who read their Bibles to do personal word studies with an open mind willing to repent/change their minds if they learn that their assumptions are untrue. It's the way we learn.

We also see that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
What sins did he turn from in order to be saved?
He was listed in the NT faith chapter Hebrews 11.

Repentance is a basic word; acknowledging that you’ve done wrong, and feeling sorry to God (telling God that you are sorry for having committed such things). Only God can forgive you through Jesus.
