No one has addressed the elephant in the room and that is the tabernacle and the number 5. Most anyone who has commented on Exodus 25 (5 x 5) through Exodus 27 (3 x 3 x 3) has noticed the pattern of 5 in the construction of the tabernacle and the altar.

it has everything to do with the "chapter" that precedes it and what follows it! if we didn't look at 'chapter' numbers at all, we might comprehend it better than "whole point must be to make me think of the number 5"!

I know a lot about number patterns, having taken both Calculus and Statistics. There are number patterns in many things, from petals on flowers to the beats of a heart. There are number patterns with regards to the universe's laws of physics, and how the universe works, which is the hand of God. The universe is finely calibrated for life, and not even planets or chemistry could exist without the fine tuning which God has done. God has left his handiwork everywhere, not just in the late addition of Bible chapters and verses, or in the KJV.
Besides, it's what you try and make the number patterns into! Nonsense and absurd stuff, and ANY thing and EVERY thing goes! Add to, subtract from, multiply or divide, or just take the numbers at face value. With that open-endless, literally anything can come up with a pattern, that means nothing, in every sense of the word!
I also know a lot about mental illness, including OCD, schizophrenia and bipolar psychosis. These threads come right out of a "Beautiful Mind," where John Nash, thought everything was talking to him in codes. I have met people in a psychotic break who were finding number patterns in everything, and they did up in a psychiatric ward.
IN FACT, when you slice and dice up the Bible like this, what you actually LOSE, is the meaning of the words.
The words have meaning, number patterns, are extraneous! In fact, in the case of James37, they have destroyed his walk with God. He spends all his time obsessing over numbers, as these threads show, and in the end, he has no visible sign of actually believing or following Christ. All he believes in are his own, made up patterns of one version of the Bible.
And I will warn you, you were staying well away from this nonsense in the beginning, which was wise. You go right on believing that KJV is the Only Bible. But, you are stepping off a cliff, with no bottom in sight, if you get sucked into this kind of made up gematria.
Oh yes, studied a quite a bit of gematria when I was in the New Age Movement. This could be right out of the pages of Alice Bailey, and that is just scary!

So you're equating the 50 that were consumed by the fire Elijah brought down to the 50 of the sons of the prophets? I don't follow your reasoning.
Let us not overlook that it was 51 and not 50 in each group of 2 Kings 1. The 3rd group (which was spared) would total 153 that came before Elijah in this manner and now we have a connection to John 21.

Your statements prove you know nothing about what James37 is talking about. These number patterns and factorization of numbers have absolutely nothing to do with gematria. Have you even read a single thing James37 poster?
Show me the pages in any of Alice Baileys writings that remotely resemble what James37 is talking about.
I don't understand the point the op is trying to make. I don't see it. I am actually disturbed by his posts. It is very disquieting to read and not understand what his point is when I know I have pretty good reading comprehension.
their not 'equated' but they are related. it is one story, from the beginning of 2 Kings through the 42 mauled by 2 female bears, and it is very complex, and every bit of it happened and is told to us specifically in the way that they are. you don't get "2 Kings 2" without "2 Kings 1" -- the chapters and verses are artificial. but ((in context of OP)) focusing on them, you aren't able to even ask questions like "why 42 instead of 50?" and "why 2 bears, why female?" -- much less address them. 50 is important. it is not accidental. but the meaning is not "ooooh it's evenly divisible by 5" or "ooooh here's another number with 5 as one of the digits"
it is about Jesus Christ. find Him in these passages, and we start to find meaning. if you want to do it with numbers, ok, great, i love math, show me -- but that doesn't mean rattle off random numbers at me. "oh, 11" -- what question is that answering?
