The Bridal Chamber
John 14:2b-3
“...I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”John 14:2b-3
Whether you are married or unmarried, you can probably remember either someone else’s beautiful wedding, or your own ceremony and courtship.
The unmarried woman: you may see other couples and feel left out because you have no mate. You may feel frustrated, impatient, and wonder when your turn will arrive!
The married woman: you can recall in great detail the story of your courtship with your husband, the day and manner he proposed to you, the feeling of elation that he picked you, and now you were going to marry your best friend, walk down the aisle in the adornment of your choosing and live happily ever after.
Well, God wants to have that kind of sweet “marriage” relationship with you! He wants though a much more meaningful and eternal relationship with you. He wants to have sweet communion with you! When you made that choice to become a follower of Christ, you, in essence, “entered the bridal chamber” with your Lord! You committed your heart and life to Him eternally. He will never leave you, He will never forsake you, and you can be secure in knowing that He will love you eternally.
He will always be the same as when you first gave your life to Him. He will even forever change you for the better because of being loved by Him. You will have that same newness, freshness and excitement with Him forever, for God’s love is eternal. In fact, the Bible states that God is the definition of love. He is love.
