How painful does a mother weep when her child dies;
How painful does a mother weep when her child dies;
[Dear God,
You bore with great patience something so offensive and wretched; who despised you and refused you. An arrogant soul spoiled with indulgence; rebuking all that is you for what is this world's glory. I trampled your pearls and turned like the dogs; feasting on sin, drinking the wine of the Prostitute - yet starving to the last death.
I spoke ignorantly, intoxicated by her ways, perverted in her faithless lust. I tipped the cup to honor gods I've never known, desecrated your Sabbath with the splendor of the enemy. I danced to her old songs, singing praises of blasphemy; I held to her idols casted of wood, metal and stone - I proclaimed her name as your own, boasting of a God I never knew.
As she placed his mark on my forehead and hand...when I bowed to the abominations image and carried out his will. I cowered before this Beast, afraid to escape though not wanting to run. His death held me in it's jaws, my blood a sweet taste...]
Did I fall into despair...
to a darkness void of air; cursed the wicked woman aboard the scarlet beast. I screamed at her adulteries and tore at her bloodied robes. Her people beckoned God to curse us who slurred her, to damn us who dammed her.
Cursed is the woman, cursed is that harlot! Abandon the fools who scream to God to fight for her!
Who are you oh people of God, like the sand of the seashore who beckon the beast of the sea; who are you who hiss at those who spit at your Queen? Your Mother of adultery?
Do you anger how we anger? Do you mourn as we mourn? Do you scream for the God we abandoned long ago! You call out to your mother who defiles herself with evil; cloaked in the wine of adultery who gives pleasure to those who will die alongside her; the false mother, the false Christ who nurtures her children for destruction.
Where is my Mother? Where is our Mother; where is the God of Isaac who promised her children?
Did they see me dying...
Do they see us dying.
The Harlot's path is broad; her path is littered with their bodies. Every man clings to the other, wondering why they have been forsaken. You are mad off her adulteries...deceived by her wretchedness. Her feet crush their bones and they still praise her as God. She is no god; for she cowers from the light which exposes her deeds;
The beasts of the wilds gather around to engorge themselves on the fallen; they taste their flesh and exclaim:
" Where is the God who saves you!? Why has he not shown himself!? You say this woman is his Bride, yet she has given your flesh for us to eat!"
~
The Bride weeps for her children, her tears warm their skin and they nurse from her bounty to be healed; she collects the sheep whom have been scattered, lost in the wilderness. She reaches for those laid stiff in the Harlot's trail, lifting in her arms the wounded whom reach out. The rest remain strewn to death, for they've died for the Harlot, and this is their heart's joy.
Woe to those who rebuke the Bride for their adulteress Queen!
They turn against their mother and say:
" Who is greater than the Harlot? Who can stand as she does? There is none like her!"
They wage war against the woman clothed with the sun; who lives for all her precious children whom the scarlet dragon seeks to devour. The children of the Bride make war against the beast and the Harlot; against those who bow down to the abomination and drink the cup of her adulteries.
They are cut down by the swords of God; they are beaten by the words of God.
They are burned by the light of God; they are exposed by the gospel.
They will weep bitterly as their Harlot dies, for they loved the gods and kings she sinned with. They will mourn their idols and beg to God why he has allowed such destruction upon these things. Then they will curse God for the penalty of their sins, for their guilt will bring them to end.
Oh sweetest God...oh most beautiful Bride who brings the water of life so that her children may drink and inherit life eternal; who's streams flow abundantly from the throne of God, who calls out for all to receive from her what only God is able to give.
Mother O Mother - your children know you have come...
