Is this synonymous with saying Jesus was punished for our sins? Or does chastisement connotate another meaning other than punishment?

Chastisement is different than being punished. Jesus Christ died for our sins, they are forgiven. As far as the west is to the east. But, GOD IS GOING TO CHASTISE US. And be careful, because I have been told nothing goes by. It's written there, that he does that to us because he loves us. It's to save us from the world. And I know personally this is true.

Here, this book is for you, two of them...

I think in the context of Jesus yes it means punishment but not from God but from the ignorant men who put him on the cross. for us to be chastened is different it is constructive punishment like you do with a child you punish them not to hurt them but to teach them

Where are you getting that from? If you are referring to Isaiah, Chapter 53:

"The chastisement of our peace was upon him" is a phrase from Isaiah 53:5. It means that the chastisement by which our peace is effected or secured was laid upon him, or he took it upon himself and bore it, in order that we might have peace. The phrase is often interpreted as referring to Jesus Christ, who was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities.

Ok, I am now rebounding on what I said.

God's grace, the forgiveness of sins comes without retribution. It's forgiven, that's the end of it. There does comes time when Jesus Christ will chastise us. But you rebound from the sin, ask for forgiveness of it, seek wisdom and knowledge on it. It's forgiven. When God chastised King David, the only reason he did that, was because everyone was watching to see what would happen. They where all looking to see if he was going to get away with it. So God chastised him, he took the baby from him. Which was the reason King David did it.
