Once upon a reading, I came across a tidbit of how to raise a daughter...
Perhaps a son as well.
You teach them to walk and talk and all the amenities.
Then you put them in a "cage" for safety.
Like the caterpiller in the cocoon, they spin and twirl and grow.
Eventually comes the day, when you start to gently shake the cage...
Thereby drawing them out...but being ever so careful to keep the cage intact.
---------------------
Sometimes there are broken cages.
They need repair so the child can go and twirl and spin to fix their brokenness.
Then, when they are ready, they re-exit the cage.
Wholesome and well. Beautiful and at peace.
God bless!

I read the first part many years ago and in my broken state, I pondered it over and over.
Recently I re-exited my cage.
God excavated my soul that had been buried for decades under crusty, earthly garbage.
I'm more free than ever ... and i have both the "cage" and the wings.
-------------------
I hope it makes sense.
