For the New Year ----- a new thread discussing our "identity" in God's Kingdom-----The Church-----the church is shown as 4 no 5 things in God's Word----- 1. A body ( of Christ); 2. An army; 3. A bride; 4. A building ( living stones); and a special focus ----- 5. A city ( City of God). -----------the Kingdom of God will be manifested in these upcoming days through the " City of God"-----God's will be down on Earth as it is in Heaven---- that means special favor, Grace, and Mercy will be manifested through God's people---- get ready to " spend" God' s Mercy,,, healing-----salvation---- restored marriages----- minds restored----relationships healed---- Love being poured out----the kingdom as righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost...

HELPS Word-studies

1577 ekklēsía(from 1537 /ek, "out from and to" and 2564 /kaléō, "to call") – properly, people called out from the world and to God, the outcome being the Church (the mystical body of Christ) – i.e. the universal (total) body of believers whom God calls out from the world and into His eternal kingdom.

[The English word "church" comes from the Greek word kyriakos, "belonging to the Lord" (kyrios). 1577 /ekklēsía ("church") is the root of the terms "ecclesiology" and "ecclesiastical."]

To me, one of the biggest errors is to say "THE" church started on the 50th day (Pentecost)

John prepared the "material" as in saved, immersed believers into the coming Messiah...

Jesus CALLED OUT the disciples of John and began to ASSEMBLE with them and teach them....

They are identified as A CHURCH no less than 2 times in the present tense while Jesus walked with them during his ministry....

The Holy Spirit took the PLACE of JESUS on the 50th day and empowered the ALREADY in EXISTENT CHURCH to do the work....Jesus can only be physically in one place at a time while bound in flesh....the H.S. can and does empower every CHURCH on the planet.......In heaven is ONE BODY of believers...on the earth CHURCHES...each an individual, visible, autonomous body independent of each other but with equal rights and authority before the throne...

REVELATION 1:4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,

Seems to me the disciples were born again when Christ breathed on them... The Church became empowered (not born) I believe on Pentecost...

The "City of God"-----where the kingdom of God can be demonstrated-----not in word only---but in power and the Holy Ghost...

The Temple of God filled with His Holy Presence...
