I understand how you feel about that. One of my best friends was a famous physician in my part of the country. I've not seen a more impressive Prospectus. He had a heart condition and was an old fashioned Osteopathic physician, an MD who was more biased towards integrative, getting to the root of the problem instead of pushing pills kind of Doc. There was much to learn from his experience.
He retired and was urged to take aspirin prophylactically to "prevent a cardiac event from clotting."
This has been common practice for decades. We had a discussion about the dangerous effects of frequent aspirin use and safer food/ supplement based alternatives.
Ask yourself my friend, Did your Dr tell you that it thins the gut lining and can cause bleeding ulcers?
As we age it becomes more of a risk. There are other deleterious effects, but internal bleeding is a common potentially life threatening one. I just wish someone encouraged him to call me before it was too late.
All I got was a text message about his death and multiple regrets.
There are multiple sources I've learned this from over the decades. This is a short minute from a very reputable MD, Dr Peter Osborne. I take 2 classes from him weekly and listen to nearly all his posts for continued education
Aspirin Short Summary of just One Effect.
I can post the interesting segments on the class of pain killers aspirin is in if you and others would like to learn how to spare muscle loss, joint degradation and other avoidable problems.
