When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along
with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.
how could you ever receive the holy spirit? where is the promise of eternal life in the law?

true if man was perfect, sadly we weren't and aren't, so Jesus came in Love taught us the words of eternal life, suffered and died, was raised from the dead and claimed all authority, therefore the law has no authority any longer, because Jesus has all of it. besides, do you stone your child if they curse you? because that is written in the law. do you keep all of the feasts and holy days in the law? do you sacrifice animals? the law is dead, Jesus put it to death on the cross, took all of its authority all its curses, and claimed Life for those who put their whole heart of Faith into Him. the law is death it is a jewish authority that has no life in it, all the life is in Christ

that's the shortes verse in the bible lol, but shows His compassion. do you suppose He wept for lazarus? or because no one was really believing Him in that story? I think myself, it is because of the lack of faith of the people, for surely Jesus knew he was about to raise lazarus to life

yep, but really, what we need is the man on the cross, not the cross itself. the cross is for our death, the resurrection for our life. the power is in Jesus. the altar is the Cross, Jesus is the blood, the life is in the blood of Jesus, and the blood of Jesus is our life

You must realize that when I say the Cross I am speaking of the work done on it and not the wooden beam.
you must understand the cross is a wooden beam, and the man who died on it is the same who walked out of the tomb He himself is what we need not only what He did for us, but Him. we do need the forgiveness He gave through His death, but we also need the life He gives to His followers in His words. we follow Jesus to the cross and we will follow him out of the tomb as well. we follow Him hes our leader.
such a wonderful promise, if we Just focus on seeking the KINGDOM all we will ever need will be there. good one
He wept for our sorrow; all sorrow is caused by sin. It was (initially, in the garden with A&E) because of sin that death took hold. Mary believed He was the Messiah and that her brother would be raised at the resurrection... but Jesus had purposefully delayed His arrival so He could further demonstrate His mastery over death.
“Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”
His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” Jesus had been
speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep.
So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad
I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

I understand and well stated, however if our faith is not in the work of the cross then we have failed. He had to go to the cross in order to walk out of the tomb.
