The Lord said" I am going to destroy everything on earth, all human beings and animals, birds and fish. I will bring about the downfall of the wicked. I will destroy the whole human race, and no survivors will be left. I, the Lord, have spoken.
ZEPHANIAH: 1:2-3
The Lord says, " I will bring such disasters on mankind that everyone will grope about like someone blind. They have sinned against me, and now their blood will be poured out like water, and their dead bodies will lie rotting on the ground."
On the day when the Lord shows his fury, not even all their silver and gold will save them. The whole earth will be destroyed by the fire of his anger. He will put an end- a sudden end - to everyone who lives on earth
ZEPHANIAH: 1:17-18

Before you get too caught up in that prophecy, do be aware that that was a prophecy to Judah about the coming Babylonian invasion. Replace the word earth with land (which is the actual meaning of that word), and it will seem less epic.

Bad things are coming, yes, but that's not a prophecy about this time.

It will be grand to have the whole heavens and earth remade, with no sin.
Do not grieve the coming of the Lord, and the final day of judgement.
Glory hallelujah, how I look forward to that time! Come Lord Jesus.

I guess if you start redefining to fit the Babylonian invasion...

The Lord said" I am going to destroy everything on earth, all human beings and animals, birds and fish.

Redefining words like 'everything' 'all' and 'on earth'.

Yes, this may have spoke 'closer to home'. :)

2 Peter 3:10-12 KJV
[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, [12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Out of curiosity what was your reason for the thread? I saw the title and the prophecy but it didn't say anything else like if you were wanting to discuss what we thought it meant if you were warning us to be prepared or.......

I'm fine with it I just usually make a thread for a specific reason

Redefining words like 'everything' 'all' and 'on earth'.
The word translated earth means land, as in the land of Israel, where the prophesied destruction was to occur. They had no concept of a spherical planet.

The word all in the bible is used sometimes used as a figure of speech, especially in prophetic writings. When the bible says that all Israel did something, apart from the exodus, it is not realistic to conclude that every man, woman, child, invalid and sick person did it.

Revelation 19:15
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

When Christ returns, exactly why will God have to punish mankind?
Revelation 11:18, last few words; and Zephaniah 1:17.

18And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead,
that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants
the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great;

and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

17And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men,
because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out
as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

Comment: God is love (1 John 4:16). God and Christ love all of humanity (John 3:16).
But Christ will be angry at the sins of mankind when He returns.

To save the human race alive (Matthew 24:22), He is coming to punish in love!
Otherwise, man would destroy all life upon the Earth!

In love, God revealed His way of life that leads to everything good and desirable
—including eternal life—to our first parents, Adam and Eve. But they rejected that way.
Their descendants have continued to reject God’s way for 6,000 years!

Therefore, as any wise and loving father punishes his children for their own good
when they refuse to respond to kind and loving verbal admonition, an all-loving,
all-wise God will have to punish this world to bring it to its senses!

The glorified Christ is coming in all the splendor, power and glory of God
to stop escalating wars, nuclear mass destruction, and human pain and suffering.

He is coming to usher in peace, abundant prosperity, happiness and joy for all mankind.

Re: The day of the Lord judgement

the time period of God’s wrath is called the day of the Lord
Isaiah 13:6, 9; Joel 1:15; Zephaniah 1:18.

8For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, and the year of recompences
for the controversy of Zion.

2To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance
of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

4For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

6Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come
as a destruction from the Almighty.

15Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and
as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

18Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath;
but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even
a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

over 30 prophecies in the Old and New Testaments, the period of Christ’s
supernatural intervention and wrath at mankind’s sins is called the Day of the Lord!

-this prophetic “day” of the Lord’s wrath that lasts [A year ]
Isaiah 34:8; 61:2; 63:4. -a prophetic day often represent a year.
Numbers 14:34.

34After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days,
each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

-a year-long punishment that culminates with the return of Christ.

The Trumpets Begin to Sound!

the Great Tribulation is immediately followed by supernatural
signs in heaven (Matthew 24:21, 29).

The signs in heaven are also referred to as the sixth seal in Revelation
(Revelation 6:12-14).

Next the seventh seal, which contains the seven trumpets, is opened.
Revelation 8:1-6.

the seventh seal (which occurs immediately after the heavenly signs)

Acts 2:20.The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,
before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

-The wrath of the “day of the Lord” is manifested in the seven “trumpet”
plagues which are unleashed consecutively over a period of months,
culminating in the Second Coming of Christ included.

7The first angel sounded,
and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth:
and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

- Here A gigantic firestorm will burn all green grass and one third of the trees.
Burned vegetation will be the first punishment on mankind

8And the second angel sounded,

and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea:
and the third part of the sea became blood;

9And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died;
and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

-The seas will be gravely affected by this plague. One third of the seas will
turn to blood, and one third of life in the seas will be destroyed, and one third
of the ships, mainly used for trade and warfare, will be destroyed!

10And the third angel sounded,

and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp,
and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

11And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of
the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters,
because they were made bitter.

-punishment is one third of the waters of the Earth unfit for human
consumption. The waters will become bitter, causing many to die.

12And the fourth angel sounded,

and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon,
and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened,
and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

-Most people would be terrified by now, God is ultimately after repentance,
but people will continue in sin, despite God’s repeated warnings to repent!

Re: The whole earth is at rest

a day will come

Hebrews 4:9 (KJV)

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

-not just us but That the whole creation will no longer be in bondage

Isaiah 14:7 (KJV)

The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

It will occur like Apostle Peter said in 2 Pet.3:10. But the Greek word for "elements" there is not about earthy material matter like the earth's atomic elements. It's a word about a world order by man, i.e., the things made by man. God is not going to literally destroy this earth into a vapor, He's simply going to cleanse its surface just as He did back in the day of Noah, except using His consuming fire this final time. That's why Peter was covering also God's previous destruction upon earth with flood there also.

The Daniel 3 event when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo were cast into the hot fiery furnace heated seven times hotter than necessary, and a fourth Man appeared in the furnace along side them with the appearance of The Son of God, is an ensample for us about this event to occur on the "day of the Lord", the day of our Lord Jesus' 2nd coming. They came out of that furnace unharmed, and their clothes didn't even smell of smoke. But the servants of the king of Babylon were incinerated just when they got near that furnace.

Satan's workers have tricked many with trying to make that event of God's consuming fire mean man destroying each other with nuclear weapons. Man can't create enough nuclear weapons to do what God's consuming fire is going to do upon the surface of this earth. It will literally destroy man's works off the surface of this earth.

This... is the reason why I keep saying that when our Lord Jesus returns on that day, this present age of man in the flesh body we have today will be over and done with. Everyone on earth on that day will instantly appear in a "spiritual body" like Paul taught in 1 Cor.15. This is actually what Paul was talking about there when he said we will be changed "at the twinkling of an eye" on the "last trump". That means as fast as you can blink your eye. And that change is not just for Christ's Church. It will occur for everyone still alive upon this earth on that day (see Isaiah 25 where Paul was pulling that teaching from).

If you look at the 7th Vial event in Rev.16, notice that particular Vial is poured out into the air, which is what that 7th Vial is pointing to, i.e., God's consuming fire on the "day of the Lord". In Isaiah, God compared the event to the sound a bottle with liquid in it makes when you turn it completely upside down.

For those in Christ Jesus, this event is not something to fear at all, but to welcome, because it is going to end the wickedness of this present world ushering in the world to come under Christ's literal reign with His elect priests and kings.

Everyone on earth on that day will instantly appear in a "spiritual body"
like Paul taught in 1 Cor.15.
That chapter I believe does not say everybody on earth is changed,
but referes to the ones given the down payment of the H.S.,

23And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath
to another, shall [all flesh] come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
24And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed
against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched;

and they shall be an abhorring unto [all flesh].

- be kinda hard if no flesh was alive on earth here

Zechariah 14:17 (KJV)
And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto
Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

-being inmortal, why worry about no rain falling ?

there will be mortals, and sons of God on earth during 1000 year rein.

Re: during the millennium

Isaiah 61:4 (KJV)
And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations,
and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

Isaiah 58:12 (KJV)
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places:
thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called,
The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
