In 3rd grade, you saw him
Hair too long and shaggy, old plaid shirt
torn, dirty jeans.
You joined the chorus
And teased him when he tripped
Never knowing the message it carried long after.
Sometime down the road,
You came to know Jesus.
Confessed your sins, and went on
forward; straighter
Yet still a work in progress
Before you graduated, you saw him there
"Huh, with the druggies!"
But you didn't witness to him.
You didn't pray.
Instead, you thanked God for turning you around
And you walked away.
Soon, all too soon, he developed a mental illness.
Degradation of society...He was called, "Lazy, bum, leech, no good loser"
He couldn't work, for years.
Then one day, someone told him of Jesus.
And he recovered.
You ignored him, still.
He became a Nurse's aide.
You developed Alzheimer's
He prayed at your bedside,
and held your hand the day you left.
Who is the prodigal?
Who is the saved?
Thank you Jesus, for loving us all.
