I have the lovely problem of being noticeably passive. So 98% of the time for me she realizes "Oh, if I tell him to go away he will." I'm not exactly what one would call confident either, unless it's one of the RARE occasions where some girl hears me singing and decides to chat. Doesn't matter where I am, church, college, grocery store (the electronics girl caught my eye and I actually ran into her as she was off work.)
I'm fine with the concept of "Oh, if I tell him to go away he will." but I realize my own fake confidence leads me into talking to girls and rejecting myself by believing they want me to go away when they have actually said or done nothing either way. I have this theory that you noticeably passive types have better chances than my type.... some girl may recognize your passiveness, think its cute, and take steps to reel you in. In my case, I don't think any chick gets that somehow I have a break point where I just wilt and turn to dust. I can start conversations that I know 90% of the male population never would but then I hit this wall and never advance to any true point. its kinda funny because I have seen male friends who were just terrified of women advance into longtime serious relationships and I'm still going absolutely nowhere with a dozen dumb stories a week of clever conversations and no results.
