He dresses very well
and tries to show his better looks
spends hours in the mirror
just to give his best impression
just to be an elegant man
He hurries now to get to the gym
to then get to the spa in two hours
and spends tones of money
in buying expensive clothes
For him every evening is the same
he goes off to hide his real self
to put on the imitation he likes the most
just to find someone who really values him
just to be accepted and cherished
But push-ups and biceps can not cover
a lonely and depressed heart
Nice shoes and soft skin can't mend
the broken pieces of a shattered man
He says people will respect him one day
He says he is immune to laughter and mocking words
He says he is strong enough
to overcome sarcasm from his companions
but tears slowly subside from his eyes
and the depression he hated the most
comes back to haunt him once more
But tonight something happened to him
he runs over again
but not to get to the gym or to the spa
but to kneel down on the sidewalk
He has a small Bible in his right hand
while the pouring rain washes all his face
and he smiles by the very first time
while he yells of pure joy
drunken people and beggars look around
just to hear five times the same words
that are coming out from his mouth:
He saved me!
He saved me!
I was once blind
but now I can see
and tries to show his better looks
spends hours in the mirror
just to give his best impression
