I do see something but am not sure this is what you are referring to.

I am doing topic searches on both abomination and desolate.

And its not what I thought it was.

Lev 19:5 And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace unto the LORD, ye shall offer it of your own free will.

Lev 19:6 It shall be eaten thesame day ye offer it and on the next day, and any remaining until the third dayshall be burnt in the fire.

Lev 19:7 And if it is eaten at all on the third day, it isabominable; it shall not be accepted;

Lev 19:8 and whoever eats it shall bear his iniquity because he has profaned the holiness of the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from among his people.

The last verse struck me as the worst disobedience of the priests because he remains in iniquity. The natural man.

So I question then, why the peace offering, and what does this symbolize?

From a google search, I find much info, and great understanding as to why this sacrifice would not avail any priest if it's not offered as it should be, and eaten on the third day. Or offered at all. All sacrifices point to Jesus, but this one is about the finished work of the Cross.

I said at the outset of this message that each of the sacrifices focuses on one particular facet of God’s grace and of the benefits which God’s people experience through the sacrifices. The Burnt Offering focus on the satisfaction of God’s righteousness because of the sacrificial death of the animal offered. Here, as it were, the emphasis falls on God, and the satisfaction of His anger, due to the general fallen condition of man. The Grain Offering focuses on the Israelite’s dependence upon God, not only for forgiveness and spiritual life, but for physical life. The Peace Offering focuses on the Israelite’s “peace with God,” the joys and the peace of mind which comes from knowing that God is at peace with us. There is the sense in which Christ’s death appeased (propitiated) God’s anger, but the “Peace Offering” aspect of Christ’s work went beyond this. And because this is true, we can experience the inner peace that comes from knowing God’s favor is directed toward us. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one, and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. and He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father (Eph. 2:13-18).

There is much in this article but would take a few pages to post it all.

The author states this sacrifice has not been offered as instructed in the beginning. So each time it is done, it is disobedience. And has been this way since Noah.

The third day, is the day of grace. The peace offering symbolizes peace with God.

For it to offered on a altar of sacrifice again, it will be an abomination that truly will make all that eat of it desolate. Cut off from Messiah.

What I find interesting is that according to the futurists John wrote his revelation in 95 AD yet there is no mention of the war of 66-70 AD or the destruction of the temple and sack of Jerusalem/Judea, it's supposedly all about some future events.

Very strange.

Only Jesus has the power to open the seals which reveal WHAT IS TO COME. No instructing coming from Jesus.
When the first seal is opened, the Scripture does not say he is instructed to conquer, it simply states that he does.
It is also important to see that the wrath mentioned in Rev.6 has a different spelling than the wrath announced at the seventh trump. Some translations have anger in Rev. 6.
It is also interesting that some translations do not say "His wrath" but "their wrath" in Rev. 6.

Ellsworth1943... I looked "wrath" up and what I found, the rev 6:16 and 17 verses vs Rev 11:18 Wrath were all the same spelling. They had Identical Strong's g3709 ὀργή orgē , a Feminine Noun.

Unless I got the wrong verse, they are the same.

Before I leave this to something else, there's something about goat worship that the priests brought into the worship through sacrifice, which they had previously done as pagans. ? My head is reeling with an overload. I need page 1. :)

Read this and wonder if they were offended by goat worship or not, Josephus: Of the War, Book II ,,,the facts of history show that they were very well against defacing the temple of God in there actions...

The people revolted from time to time, but the high priest was in cahoots with Herod. If I have read this correctly, Herod made sacrifices in the temple. In this one instance that I've read, he did it correctly.

But, I'm getting the picture that every instance it was not so. It should have been abhorrent to the high priest and the Levite priests that a pagan sacrificed at all.

So, yes in this way, it was devil worship, goats, by appeasing Herod.

Did I read this correctly? Herod sat down in the temple? In the throne of David?

The reading of this is difficult for me and I have to read over and over to make sure I'm comprehending. Tiring to me.

You do have a point. But, history does tend to repeat. And I'm not entirely sure that all of prophecy was finished in the past. But, you all have been at interpreting these things much longer than me. I'm just beginning.

To try to find all answers in this thread is rather confusing though. Too many opinions.

I do appreciate the personal help.

What I find interesting is the fact that Revelation is about JESUS being revealed as GOD at the end of the age and has nothing to do with Rome's destruction of Jerusalem some 20 centuries before and that people can ignorantly say the book of Revelation happened 1st Century A.D.

The definition of the word absurd..........
 
im not gonan waste my time reading that josephus guy but can someone confirm if he does really mention the temple being defaced as one uce said?
