Ok so as a big person. I do admit that I eat too much and exercise too little. I'm not so big that I can't fit in an airplane seat or people feel uncomfortable around me. My whole family is large but unlike some people, I do not use that as an excuse. I know that I did this to myself. I don't judge other people for what they eat and I expect the same in return.
However...
The only issue I have with it is when parents feed their children bad food. I have been on busses and there were parents giving their children, who still use bottles, pop (or soda for you americans out there) instead of water or juice. I was in wal mart the other day and there is a mcdonalds in wal mart. As I was walking by a.k.a. not going into mcdonalds because I know its bad for me, there was this 4 year old who could barely move because he was so big. The kids legs were so large he could only waddle. The shirt didn't fit him, his hands wouldn't close almost because his fingers were too big. At that point, I have an issue. My mother never gave me pop, never allowed mcdonalds unless it was a grill cheese or chicken nuggets. It was crazy. I almost wanted to call children's aid to help that little kid.

Sooo... I was just reading a post that mentioned something about witholding weight in the "online" scene. I am aware that this is probably the most common thing that people (especially women) tend to "leave out" when making profiles and meeting new people online.
But it kinda offends me that people would opt out of talking to someone based on their size! lol cuz that's kinda what it sounds like! I, for one, am fat/fluffy/flabby/lumpy/pudgy/overweight/chubby/veluptious/whatever you decide to call it! haha I am secure enough in myself to say it but i have this to add...
I am one of the people that totally avoids putting full body pics in my profile because i KNOW how people are--judge on looks first and if they're "hot" we'll check out the personality. lol I'd much rather be judged on my personality from the get go! I mean, why do we, as fat people, have to be cast aside twice as fast? We're still gorgeous in God's eyes right? I know... cheesy... but i'm curious! lol
And you cant sit there and say it's cuz we're lazy slobs and you want someone "active" haha I mean seriously! I'm the first to jump up and want to go to the batting cages or skiing or swimming or hiking or even just to take the dog for a walk! I go rollerblading every day in the summer for hours on end! lol i LOVE working out and being active--and i know i'm not lazy! (most days anywayshaha) but also--i love food!
haha is that a crime? Pasta is my weakness!
It just blows me away that we could be so harshly judged based on genetics or body chemistry. I mean... I'd look silly if i was 120 lbs! I'd be completely disproportionate! lol Altho i do realize some fat people are that way because of laziness and overeating... but they're still people too!
I'm not saying EVERYONE is like this by any means. The keepers aren't quick to judge anyone
And, the fact that you could like someone-a lot-and as soon as you discover their weight you're all like "eww" lol I mean c'mon! It's our fault you imagined nonexistant Miss Perfect?
Sorry this is so long! lol It just kinda bugged me! I wanna hear everyone's HONEST opinions!! Give it to me straight out! lol
I grew up with my mom and nana calling me fat, but at 5'4 and 119 pounds i obviously was not. So there has always been a constant struggle with me and my weight. When i got to be older i started eating more cause it made me feel better, especially after being called those names. Ive never been over weight or obese, but ive had to fight against allowing myself to get that way. I believe god has allowed this in my life so that i wouldnt be judgmental. Its easy to become prideful in the way one looks if your thin never had a problem with your weight. If you have been on the other side of that its easy to see how your weight can get out of control.
I would never judge someone based on their weight when it comes to dating. I look for personality first. And if he's got it all then so what if hes 20 pounds heavier than he should be. No body is ever gonna be perfect, everyone has different shapes and sized, and i really love all different shapes and sizes, i find it intresting. I will never look like miss perfect so i dont expect anyone else to

This is generally why I don't see the point of internet dating, often people aren't being totally honest about themselves in order to avoid rejection, but they're pushing that rejection downstream as it's likely to happen when you meet if you conceal information.
I have always thought there are two sides to this issue, of the women I have been attracted to in my life the vast majority have not conformed to modern ideas of what makes for a beautiful woman, they didn't have day-glo teeth or a perfect figure, no big deal, I wouldn't say any of them were fat but a lot of other people probably would.
On the other hand attraction is physical as much as anything else and that is an important part of a relationship and so if someone is overweight I don't really think it's wrong to be put off by that, if I became overweight I would not resent women for not finding me attractive even if I had a medical cause for my weight gain that was largely beyond my control, as some people do.
So while being overweight cannot always be put down to simple greed and laziness it is still not wrong to find it unnattractive and people shouldn't really be judged for feeling that way, that said most women I've known who think they are fat are actually perfectly normal but seem unwilling to believe anyone who tells them that.
If you were gonna listen to what the bible has to say on the subject guys, you would pick a woman not based on beauty or a witty personality, but by a virtuous woman with a heart set on God. If a person is too selffish to submit herself God how are they going to give up their own interests for the sake of a lifelong convenant between the two of you and God. Likewise women of the body of Christ, with your heart set on Christ be very careful that you don't give yourself over to a pretty boy, with a quick wit, and a heart set on the vain things of this world. You will either suffer under his hand or be lead astray.

If you're looking for someone to date, then attractiveness is definitely important. There are guys who find overweight girls attractive. Just most guys like thin girls and most girls are thin, so it fits.

OK a newbee here...I too am pushing very hard to reverse the ( preholiday, post holiday and one year of self depression) weight gain of twenty pounds that I have picked up. Why? Because I too love myself and My Lord. And know that with this baggage comes rejection, high blood pressure, ect. but most of all comes the life style of no energy to run with my fiveyo grand daughter, and after 52 hours on the job my feet hurt too bad to cut the grass or scrub my boat. My point is being on both sides of the fence at differant times, "We" know that the extra will be extra! Now that I've made lots of friends, let me say I've been there done that, and it ain't easy, but it's a needed drive and goal we must set for ourselves to say"I'm worth it and I will keep trying til I get it". Not for the ones that judge me but for Me, and the ones I love! Our bodies are a living sacrifice to Our Lord, and what we do with it will be judged.

I've seen many people get teased about being skinny. It's like being tall. People that aren't tall think that it would be great to be tall, so they think it's just fine to call a tall person a giant. Many people think that it would be great to be skinny, so they think it's just fine to tell a skinny person that they're skinny. People are significantly more sensative to fat people, posibly because there's more of them in our country.
I'm rather overweight, but I've been losing quite a bit lately. Personally, I think dating a fat person is like dating a person with lung cancer. You aren't judging them based on appearance per se, but based on mortality. I personally wouldn't want to date a 500 lb woman, simply because I would know that she wouldn't be around for very long. Also, before I started to lose weight, I had no self controll with food. Food was an idol to me. Many times, I placed it before God. Now, food addiction isn't the only way that people get fat. People can be so by not having enough sleep, and other reasons. But typically, in a society such as ours, people get fat the same way I did. Thus, even though it's unfair, when I see a fat person (and this really is the pot calling the kettle black) I think that person might have an issue with self controll.
But on the other hand, who doesn't?

I have to be honest, weight has never been an issue for me, dating or otherwise (someone else's, not mine lol). To me, it doesn't matter if a person is "5 pounds or 500" as someone mentioned previously; it is the personality that will shine through the most and be a deciding factor for me. I have met skinny people that have the worst attitude around and people that are on the larger size that are the sweetest people you could meet, and vice versa. I know for me, I am a bit bigger than I would like to be, and most people I talk to locally will turn and walk the other way because of it; that's why I stick to online friends - they can't see me - LOL.
