So here's a project for anyone who's willing to participate. Let's start a gratitude project! Nothing fancy, just a daily thanksgiving. But we're limiting it to one thing we're grateful for, and one post per day. We have so many things to be thankful for, and many reasons why we're thankful. This is just one of them:

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV

I know there were previous threads like this. However, the purpose for this is to practice daily thanksgiving, learning to make it a habit to be thankful. I'd share how many times I've seen miracles happen when I started practicing daily thanksgiving. But that'd be a wall of text! I wasn't consistent though, but that's okay. We can always start again! Anyway, so we have rules:

  1. Only one thing, event, etc (make it specific) you're grateful for, per post. (As much as we'd love to read everything you're thankful for, consistency is one of the goals. Just one thing you're really really grateful for. Could be a person, an event, or something you got yourself for Christmas, or even just something you saw today that made you smile.)
  2. One post per day. (Same reason as above, consistency over content.)

If you wanna join in, I highly suggest setting a daily reminder (I would, as well), so you won't forget.

Finally, our deadline is January 1, 2016 (as much as I'd love to be ambitious and expect this to go on until the day I die, setting a realistic goal is easier to achieve and can be more inspiring). So for me, that's 10 days left. Oh and on that note, let's make it a countdown to 2016.

10 days before 2016:

I thank God for my, dun dun dun, first arranger keyboard. I lurve it. I almost starved for the last couple months so I could buy it. Lel. But I was blessed enough, so 'almost starved' that is. Anyway, thank You Lord! 8)

I am thankful for my job, Because of long hours and crazy work hours, I complain alot. But there are so many people who do not have jobs today, and are struggling, I just have to realize that God has blessed me dearly with the Job I have..

ps. Great thread Abing!!

precious ones should never be neglected or pushed away and not acknowledged....

when they are, we should ask ourselves, WHY are we purposely avoiding a beautiful spirit??

Grateful for my Aunty whom came by today to exchange Christmas gifts.

Also I am grateful I was able to get gifts for all my close friends and family a few days ago. Cool story with that actually. I went through McDonalds after picking up the gifts and my buddy Ben was working and gave me a free iced tea for my mom. To be honest I had forgot all about him, so I handed him a cd I had bought as a Christmas present and wished him Merry Christmas. Very thankful for random acts of kindness and being able to return them in kind, praise Jesus.

I thank God for Terri. When I was drowning in depression and my mother wanted so much to reach out to me, she asked me to watch a youtube video by her. The only reason I did was because it was only 8 mins long. Who would've thought that 8 mins started a change in my life that would go on for a long time, and hopefully continue until I die. She has blessed me so much and inspired me to get back with God. She still continues to encourage me with her podcasts. I would love to thank her personally, she has no idea how much of a blessing she is. I went through similar circumstances as her and she overcame and is sharing the same victory to many women. Anyway, thank You Lord! 8)

Whew kind of a busy day lol only 20 minutes of Christmas Eve left, so thankful I got to this topic to stay in the rules of the game before it's too late lol.

Well, more seriously on the countdown today thankful for seeing my cousins whom came into town but have to leave tomorrow, my friend Nate whom stopped over, and my lil sister. We usually do our gift exchanges in the family on Christmas Eve, so thankful for all the gifts received and able to give. Also my cousin whom I just call Lil Cuz took care of an annoying pop-up computer for me, yay. Thankful for one of the best Christmas Eves I've had in a longtime, praise Jesus.

I'm thankful for christian chat, I have learned a lot from this site.

8 days before 2016!

I thank God for my flatmates. They all left me to guard our flat this weekend .-_-. But these guys were witnesses of my downfall and immediate recepients of my terrible attitude for an entire year. They tried to talk me out of my addiction to video games and failed countless times (they aren't all Christians). They've been there through my good times and bad. And never once did they ever make me feel unaccepted. I appreciate them more than they know. And I consider myself blessed. Having harmonious relationship with the people I live with, gives me peace that helps keep me sane. Thank You Lord!

I hope we are all thankful for the people God has put in our lives.. I am thankful for the body of Christ I have become a part of.. and those who do not have the body who also help me also. I just pray I can be a blessing to them and somehow God can use this.

I must add that this was before I got free of my past addictions. Now our relationship is even better and they're happy for my freedom as well.

I am beyond thankful that although I'm not always faithful to the Lord, He is ALWAYS faithful to me! He could've just hardened me to keep doing the garbage I was doing, but yanked me out of that cesspool. Praise Jesus!

I'm really thankful for all the people who invited me to their homes over Christmas. Or I would have been totally alone :)

Just finished up dinner, so thankful for my mom, dad, lil sister, and even her boyfriend whom came to Christmas with us. Also thankful it was a lot less hustle and bustle today. Guess since it's Christmas it's a good day to be thankful for Jesus too. Merry Christmas ChristianChat!

7 days before 2016!

I thank God for my job. It was miraculous how I got it. I sent my resume to more than a hundred IT companies online. Only this one where I work now, replied. It was 2 days after I started job hunting when they messaged me. Didn't take that long actually. A week after, I had a phone interview then I was asked to come to Singapore for a final interview. Which I did, only to find out there wasn't a final interview anymore. Instead, I was presented a job offer. And I found out it's funded by the 2nd biggest telco in the country and there were a lot of benefits. It was one of the best days of my life. I prayed about this job and God answered. Even if sometimes I feel lazy to go to work, I still treasure having a job. It's a great blessing and makes me a blessing too. I know I'm not staying here for long, but for now, as long as I'm here, I'll cherish it and try to enjoy all my work days. Thank You Lord!

Today I am thankful for my 2 dogs (goldendoodles) They brighten my life in so many ways! Thank You Lord for creating these magnificent creatures!

Had a pretty good day today. Saw my friend JJ and gave him some Christmas cookies that my aunty made. Lol felt kinda bad that my original gift to him, a coffee maker I guess was leaking, but he was able to exchange that for some money to get his girl a gift so that's what's up. Thankful I kept the receipt and gave it to them lol.

More seriously I gave him a copy of that Bible series and he watched some of it and was really diggin' it he told me so that's what's up. Thankful my friend enjoy his gifts and thankful to God of course for the Bible story. My friend left off he said at the beginning of the parts about Jesus too last night (Christmas), so that's pretty awesome. Thankful for all the goodness God has shown my community this year.

I'm thankful that my son came home from the marines over Christmas and New Year.

I'm thankful that both my daughters and all the grandkids made it for Christmas.

I'm extremely thankful to be employed and paid well. The way I got this job was nothing short of miraculous. I had never even contemplated working in this field before I had come to Christ and prayed to be blessed.

Thank you, Jesus.
