The US government has been carefully investing a portion of everyone's paycheck every two weeks in Social Security so that these ones who are now jobless and saddled with debt from college can fall back on their parents and grandparents for support. Just kidding! No, Social security was a complete ponzi scheme, the only thing keeping it alive is taking money from Peter to pay Paul which in this case is taking money from Americans who are working. So if unemployment gets too high there will be no way to pay Social Security out to seniors.

I think the lesson here is to put your treasure in heaven where thieves do not break through and steal and where rust and moths don't eat it up.
