We have the promise of salvation. None of us is actually saved yet. We still get sick, grow old, and die.
Our spirit (or soul) is not eternal. That's the crux of the matter, really. There is no immortal soul/spirit.
That will happen when Christ returns for us. That is the time when dead Christians will be raised from the dead immortal, and living Christians changed.

That is simply not the truth. The entire concept of the "immortal soul" comes from Greek mythology.

Yes, those who have DIED will rise again. They are now dead, and they will be raised from the dead.

I am fully aware that "orthodox" Christianity believes that dead people aren't dead. I am fully convinced that belief is false.
We continue to disagree.
Understanding that death means death is not "human reasoning".

If the Lord tarries, we will all die.
We are saved now in that we have the promise of salvation.
The Bible says we will be saved, we are saved, and we have been saved.
Amen! And some Christians will live to see Christ's return.
That is not true. People do not separate into various parts when they die, with only the body dying, but the soul/spirit continuing to live.

Everything on that list is complete opposites...it's a good list.
sickness is the absence/opposite of health.
despair is the absence of hope.
Evil is the opposite or absence of good.
darkness is the absence of light.
Death is the absence of life.
The first one on your list is the only one that is being messed wih.
