Continuing with the lessons learned through the study of the Holy Bible..........let's look at PATIENCE!
Truly one of the most difficult lessons to learn, AND to obey........for a believer to exercise patience. Wow, I surely do struggle with this, and I suspect others do as well. By learning patience, we are able to endure times of trials/tribulations as God works to fulfill His plan for our lives. What does Scripture say?
Psalms 46:10) Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 .) The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Isaiah 40:28) Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 .) He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 .) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 .) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Romans 5:1) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 .) By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 .) And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 .) And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 .) And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Galatians 6:7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 .) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 .) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
James 1:16) Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 .) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 .) Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 .) Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 .) For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
James 5:7) Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 .) Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
I pray that God will increase my patience, but I fear that the best way to "learn" patience is through trials and tribulations suffered.............sigh...........and I may well fail.
