Paul's work in Ephesus; ACTS;19; 1; And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth,Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus;and finding certain desciples, 2; He said unto them,Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto,We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3;And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said "Unto John's baptism. 4;Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5;When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.6;And when Paul had laid his hands upon them; The Holy Ghost came on them;and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.7; And all the men were about twelve.........................Paul received the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands from a spirit filled believer named Ananias. You can be baptized with the Holy Spirit without the laying on of hands, but nevertheless God proves to you that you have been baptized by the evidence of speaking in tongues while being baptized. no speaking in tongues, no baptism of the Holy Ghost.. God filled many people in the old testament with the Holy Ghost that ask for it.,such a man was David and all the prophets. He just not had poured it all out on all flesh on this earth until the day of pentecost . All flesh have the Holy Spirit near or around them, waiting to be invited in their hearts.. scripture says ,on the day you hear his voice, harden not your hearts. that means if you hear his voice, or you are being urged, don't fight it,accept it. say yes Jesus.
